A Career in Digital Adoption: How Representatives Help Dealerships Embrace New Technology

What does it take to turn digital tools into real business value for dealers and customers? The answer is often found on the ground, working side by side with dealer teams, understanding their challenges, and helping them achieve better outcomes through Cat Digital products.

That’s Meghan Rest’s job, a Digital Adoption Representative (DAR) in Cat Digital’s Digital Adoption and Customer Success (DACS) department. The mission of the DACS organization is centered on dealer digital acceleration, authentic adoption, customer success, and support. Meghan helps bridge the gap between digital solutions and business outcomes, helping dealers adopt Cat Digital products, realize value faster, and build long-term engagement.

On a typical day, Meghan works closely with dealership personnel to understand their priorities, identify challenges, and determine how digital tools can help address them. On this day, she held a VisionLinkTM training for a local Thompson Tractor customer.

“I think we probably opened the door to solving some of the problems they didn’t even know they had,” said David Nail, Thompson Tractor’s Power Systems PM Supervisor.

While digital products play an important role, a significant part of a DAR's job is building relationships by listening to dealer needs  and helping teams confidently navigate change. By understanding a dealer's unique business objectives, DARs can connect digital solutions to meaningful outcomes and support authentic adoption over time.

“Navigating that relationship business tends to be the biggest challenge, but sometimes it’s the easiest and best reward at the end of the day,” said Meghan. “I’m the personality hire they didn’t ask for!”
