As an Accountant supporting the Human Resources Division, you will serve as a trusted finance partner providing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic business analysis support across the organization. In this role, you will collaborate closely with HR leadership to manage budgets, evaluate investment opportunities, support workforce-related financial decisions, and provide insights that help advance the division's strategic objectives.
You will play a key role in supporting HR technology modernization efforts, driving process improvements across Workday, labor support, payroll, and HR reporting functions, while leveraging analytics and reporting tools to improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate is a self-starter with strong financial acumen, analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, business partnership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide financial planning, forecasting, and month-end support for the Human Resources Division.
- Partner with HR Vice Presidents and functional leaders on budget management, workforce investments, and financial decision support.
- Analyze business cases and investment opportunities related to HR technology modernization and transformation initiatives.
- Develop reporting, analytics, and dashboards that improve visibility into HR spending, workforce trends, and operational performance.
- Support and streamline processes within Workday, labor support, payroll, and workforce reporting functions.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and executive-level insights to support strategic HR initiatives.
What You Will Have:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Experience in a large global or publicly traded organization.
- Experience developing reporting dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancements.
- Experience leading cross-functional finance projects and influencing business decisions.
Additional Information:
- Location: Irving, TX
- Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week
- Travel: Up to 5% domestic travel
Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
