Job Definition

The Maintenance Engineer for wheel loader products serves as the first responder between CQL and product group. This role is responsible for investigating and resolving product design, manufacturing, and quality issues, coordinating engineering changes, and supporting NPI. The successful candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely problem resolution, continuous product improvement, and manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support and Problem Resolution

· Actively participate in AQE sorting activities, identify and resolve minor product and process issues, and support Operations in delivering quick wins to improve product reliability, manufacturability, quality and cost reduction.

· Quickly identify and diagnose product issues, partner with the Product Group to develop and validate ECA/ICA, and drive cross-functional execution to ensure effective implementation and issue closure.

· Support production validation activities for design improvements driven by customer feedback and VOC, and facilitate the timely implementation of product Continuous Improvement.

· Document and drive design issue tracking through the Maintenance Issue List, and provide regular status updates and progress reviews with the Product Group and Operation cross-functional teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration

· Representing the Product Group in communications with Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functional teams.

· Drive cross-functional collaboration across Product Group, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support issue resolution, product improvements, and operational excellence.

Manufacturing Improvement

· Participate in KSA activities. Support manufacturing process reviews and assembly evaluations.

· Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturability, productivity, and cost reduction.

Engineering Change Management

· Manage Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation for production products.

· Coordinate engineering changes across multiple functions to ensure successful execution.

· Monitor engineering change implementation progress and provide regular status updates to the Product Group and Operations team.

· Release ECN for Carryover parts.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

· On-site support pilot and PET phase. Coordinate cross-functional resources during machine build activities to support production builds, ensuring successful execution and issue resolution.

· Lead the Certified Build activities for Pilot and PET production.

· Assist in identifying and resolving design issues during product introduction.

Degree Required

· Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

Skills Responsibilities

· Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical experience.

· Supporting manufacturing operations and engineering problem resolution.

· Engineering Change Management (ECN) and product lifecycle processes is preferred.

Technical Skills

· Strong understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, and quality management.

· Ability to analyze design issues and develop effective solutions.

· Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D models.

· CAD visualization tools such as Creo View, Mockup, or equivalent software.

· Familiarity with product development and manufacturing processes.

Soft Skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.

· Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and customer focus.

· Effective project coordination and organizational skills.

Language Requirements

· Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.

· Ability to communicate effectively with global engineering and manufacturing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in construction equipment, heavy machinery, or off-highway vehicle industries.

· Knowledge of product development, manufacturing engineering, and quality systems.

· Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

· Familiarity with large-scale manufacturing environments and product support processes.
