As a Value Chain Synchronization Manager at Caterpillar within the Resource Industries Tracked Products Division, you will play a critical role in aligning global supply chain execution with commercial demand. This high-visibility role focuses on synchronizing dealer inventory, demand planning, and production to improve value chain performance across Tracked Products.

You will partner with sales, manufacturing, and dealer networks to drive demand forecasting accuracy, inventory conformance, and operational alignment. This role blends advanced analytics, supply chain engineering, and cross-functional leadership to deliver measurable improvements in agility, cost, and customer availability.

You will lead root cause analysis initiatives, influence enterprise S&OP processes, and develop actionable insights that optimize performance across the end-to-end value chain. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Caterpillar connects demand signals with production execution globally while working with one of the most impactful teams in the business.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with Resource Industries sales and economics teams each month to forecast customer demand for Tracked Products.

  • Implement Root Cause and Corrective Action plan methodology for variance of actual results versus the forecast for Sales to Users (STU), dealer orders received, and dealer inventory.

  • Utilize internal tools to monitor the conformance of Tracked Products global dealer inventory compared to target levels, identify gaps and developing action plans to close them.

  • Work directly with dealers to establish and adjust their machine stocking strategies.

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with dealers and internal stakeholders to promote alignment and conformance.

  • Provide leadership to host and prepare material for the monthly Tracked Product demand review meeting.

  • Prepare content for the monthly executive S&OP meeting

What skills you will have:

Supply Chain Management - Manufacturing

  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement supply chain improvements.

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to maintain continuity.

  • Collaborate with product group value chain, dealers, and manufacturing teams to align supply chain design and conformance expectations.

  • Utilize various systems to assess dealer inventory, dealer sales, and dealer orders.

  • Manage the supply chain after factory shipment until customer delivery.

  • Utilize conformance targets at various points in the supply chain to determine actions.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking

  • Analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Identify, obtain, and organize relevant data and ideas.

  • Recognize, clarify, and prioritize concerns.

  • Assist in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives.

  • Contribute to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align demand forecasts with supply capabilities.

Analytical Thinking

  • Seek discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information; explain variances.

  • Organize and prioritize the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation.

  • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.

  • Quantify the costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success before recommending a course of action.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Extensive experience of progressively responsible supply chain, engineering, or operations

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred)

  • Experience working with dealer networks and S&OP processes

  • Knowledge of Tracked Products or heavy equipment manufacturing environments

Additional information:

  • Location: This position is based in Peoria, IL and requires onsite work five days a week.

  • Relocation: Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

  • Travel: This position may require up to 5% travel

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
