Role Summary:
The Field Representative role is designed for mobile, career-driven professionals who will begin in Cary, North Carolina to build the skills, knowledge, and experience needed through a structured development experience, and then transition into a field-based role supporting Caterpillar dealers and helping solve customer challenges. Timing for placement into the field will vary based on individual readiness and business needs, and candidates must be willing to relocate when assigned to a field role.
What You Can Expect:
Build a strong foundation in Caterpillar’s products, customers, dealer network, organization, and values through a structured leadership and skill development program.
Apply your training in a field-based role, working closely with Caterpillar dealers and customers to support business needs and solve real-world challenges.
Participate in hands-on learning experiences, which may include a 12-week training program in Peoria, Illinois, focused on Caterpillar knowledge, professional skills, and dealer and customer consultation.
What You Will Do:
Develop the product, service, customer, and dealer knowledge needed to succeed in a fast-paced, customer-facing field role.
Build professional and technical capabilities through hands-on training, coaching, and real-world learning experiences.
Collaborate with teams across product development, dealer management, marketing, sales, and related business functions.
Complete rotational assignments that broaden your understanding of Caterpillar’s strategy, services, products, and dealer support model.
Prepare to manage an assigned territory and serve as a key connection between Caterpillar and its dealer network.
Explore potential specialization paths, including sales, service, aftermarket, and attachments.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Sales, distribution development and/or customer facing experience in the Automotive, Powersports, Agriculture, Rental, Attachments or Heavy equipment industries.
Demonstrated success as a self-starter in fast-paced environments.
Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Success in managing priorities and moving work forward.
Experience working on a team and in a cross-functional environment.
Additional Information
This position is initially located in Cary, NC for the first 1+ Year
Relocation Assistance is provided for this role
Upon completion of the training, you will move to a field-based position supporting Caterpillar Dealers and Customers.
Upcoming Start Dates: August 2026, January 2027, June 2027
Following training, Paid Relocation to a field position is required

Summary Pay Range:
$81,370.00 - $122,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
