As Senior Operator you will perform engineering evaluations of various models of construction and mining equipment, utilizing advanced operating skills and safe work practices. Performs operational evaluations of major equipment systems including but not limited to engine, transmission, final drive, hydraulics, electrical, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Reads schematics, service manuals, and work orders for directions and safe operating practices.

  • Evaluates performance characteristics, serviceability, and safety aspects of all equipment.

  • Works with minimal supervision to perform all jobs.

  • Performs basic mechanical work.

  • Communicates through verbal and written reports with technical staff, visitors, customers, and other employees.

  • Uses operational diagnostics and limited instrumentation to determine the root cause of problems.

  • Plans and performs equipment demonstrations for engineering, visitors, or customers.

  • Provides basic operator skills training for staff and visitors.

  • Works effectively in a team environment. Shifts easily into the role of either team member or team leader.

Basic Qualifications:

5 years of experience in operating construction and/or mining equipment.

Top Candidate will also have:

Knowledge of field applications.

Ability to diagnose application problems, and the potential to deal successfully with new concepts and analytical requirements.

Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with the technical staff, visitors, and customers.

Must have basic computer skills.

Additional information:

The location for this position is Tucson Proving Grounds, Green Valley AZ.

Summary Pay Range:

$24.75 - $37.15
