We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Role Definition

We’re looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join Caterpillar’s Mining Solutions HR team, supporting our global Mining Technology Solutions organization. This role combines HR partnership with hands-on execution across a complex, globally distributed employee population.

You’ll partner with leaders and employees on workforce planning, talent, organizational changes, compensation, performance management, employee relations, global mobility, and day-to-day people matters. You’ll also play an important role in ensuring HR processes and transactions are executed accurately and effectively across multiple countries and employee populations.

The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between strategic and tactical work, navigating ambiguity, solving problems, working across HR specialty teams, and using data and HR systems to support sound business decisions.

This position is in-office based in Tucson, Arizona.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with leaders across the global Mining Technology organization to provide practical HR guidance and solutions.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational changes, hiring, talent management, compensation, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Coordinate global mobility, international assignments, payroll transfers, and other cross-border employee matters.
  • Manage and support Workday transactions, organizational changes, position management, and workforce reporting.
  • Analyze headcount, attrition, staffing, and other workforce data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Partner across HR teams to research issues, navigate policy, and drive complex employee and business matters to resolution.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects and process improvements as needed.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • HR generalist or HR business partner experience supporting leaders and employees in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic HR partnership with detailed, hands-on execution.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines such as talent, compensation, employee relations, organizational changes, staffing, workforce planning, or mobility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently research unfamiliar HR issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Experience working across HR specialty teams and coordinating issues that span multiple HR processes.
  • Strong judgment and ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive employee matters.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze workforce data and communicate clear insights and recommendations.
  • Experience with Workday or another enterprise human capital management system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at multiple levels.
  • Experience supporting a global or geographically dispersed organization is strongly preferred.
