Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the quality organization at CCMC OSF facility, managing a team of approximately 98 employees across incoming material inspection, manufacturing quality control, product quality assurance, as-delivery inspection, and customer quality support activities. The role supports both internal operations and approximately 20 global customers, driving quality performance, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and compliance with Caterpillar quality standards and manufacturing processes.
Main Job Duties
- Oversee incoming material inspection, manufacturing quality control, final inspection, and customer quality support activities.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve recurring quality issues in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and supplier teams to improve product quality and operational performance.
- Manage quality performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to achieve quality objectives.
- Lead customer audits, internal audits, and quality improvement programs.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly welding, painting, and assembly operations.
- Strong leadership experience managing large quality teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven problem-solving capability and logical thinking to address recurring quality challenges.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, quality systems, and quality tools.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience in customer quality management and supplier quality management.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global business environment.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, CQE, or equivalent quality disciplines.
- Experience in heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, or automotive industries.
- Experience leading quality transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other advanced quality methodologies.
