Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated Accounting Associate to join the Brazil Analytics Center of Excellence within Caterpillar's Global Finance Services Division. In this role, you will support accounting, finance, cost monitoring, reporting, capital accounting, asset management, and financial analysis activities that help ensure accurate financial information, process compliance, and effective business partner support. This position supports both Product Cost and Finance processes as well as Manufacturing Capital and Research & Engineering (R&E) activities, requiring collaboration with global teams, execution of recurring financial processes, preparation of reports and reconciliations, and support for business decision-making
What you will do:
Support prime product and/or component cost monitoring activities, including cost data preparation, validation, analysis, and reporting.
Assist with Standard Cost Revision (SCR) processes, current cost analysis, and related follow-up activities.
Execute capital accounting, asset management, fixed asset, and project financial monitoring activities throughout the investment lifecycle.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations, analyses, and key performance indicators to support business and operational decisions.
Support financial activities related to Manufacturing Capital and Research & Engineering (R&E), including budgeting, forecasting, cost monitoring, and financial analysis.
Review data inputs, identify discrepancies, and support resolution of accounting, cost, capital, or asset-related issues.
Execute month-end close and reporting activities while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
Collaborate with business partners and global teams to provide financial insights, support planning activities, and ensure timely delivery of financial information.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, process documentation, standardization efforts, and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
What you will have:
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the importance of accuracy and completeness when preparing reports, reconciliations, and accounting support documentation.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to review data, identify trends or discrepancies, ask appropriate questions, and support basic financial analysis with guidance.
Effective Communications: Ability to communicate clearly with internal customers, team members, and business partners to request information, clarify data, and share routine updates.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to organize recurring tasks, meet deadlines, and balance multiple deliverables in a structured and reliable manner.
Problem Solving: Ability to apply standard procedures, escalate issues when needed, and contribute to practical solutions for routine accounting and finance process challenges.
Learning Agility: Willingness to learn Caterpillar finance processes, accounting practices, digital tools, and internal control requirements.
Basic requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Pre-advanced English
Proficiency in Office 365
Top candidates will also have:
Previous internship or professional experience in accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, reporting, FP&A, or shared services activities.
Familiarity with analytical and automation tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or Python, with willingness to continue developing technical skills.
Interest in process improvement, standard work, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, cost concepts, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
Demonstrated curiosity, accountability, collaboration, and willingness to learn in a dynamic finance environment.
