This position will support New Product Introduction at our Caterpillar Peterlee facility. Regular travel to Peterlee will be required if based from our Desford location.

About the Role
We are looking for an NPI Accountant to provide financial support for New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes and associated period cost control. This exciting role partners closely with Engineering, Product and Operations teams regarding investment decisions, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cost performance management. The successful candidate will help ensure NPI investments are commercially sound, well governed and aligned to business objectives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Act as the finance business partner for assigned NPI programmes and product teams.
Support investment decisions through robust financial analysis, modelling and business case evaluation.
Lead period cost budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting for assigned product line cost areas and NPI activity.
Provide variance analysis, identify key cost drivers, and highlight risks and opportunities to management.
Support governance reviews and present clear financial insights to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement in reporting, forecasting and cost control processes using tools such as SAP, Excel and Power BI.

Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Level Working Knowledge
Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Degree Requirements:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or equivalent relevant experience.
Top Candidates will have:
Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Experience of business partnering with non-finance stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and challenge assumptions constructively.
Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly to a range of audiences.
Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with Power BI or similar tools would be an advantage.
Experience of SAP and SAP’s Project Systems is beneficial.
Exposure to NPI, engineering, manufacturing or project-based environments is highly desirable.
