About E&ES:
Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary:
Caterpillar is seeking an Engineering Project Leader to lead the development and industrialization of next-generation motor components, with a focus on New Technology Introduction (NTI) to New Product Introduction (NPI) transition and product deployment.
In this role, you will lead complex, cross-functional programs that integrate advanced motor technologies into scalable product solutions. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to ensure successful execution from early-stage technology maturation through production readiness.
What You Will Do:
Drive alignment across NTI, NSI, and NPI activities, ensuring readiness at key program gates, tie in with end-to-end execution of motor component programs from concept validation through production implementation
Coordinate cross-functional teams across:
Advanced technology development (E+ES Systems, E+ES Power Electronics, etc)
Product groups (RI, CI, OEM)
Manufacturing, sourcing, and supply chain
Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and risk, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery
Lead NPI readiness activities including DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and supplier integration
Translate NTI learning into product-aligned solutions supporting multiple machine platforms
Support technology down-selection decisions using performance, cost, and manufacturability tradeoffs
Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to leadership and key stakeholders
Provide technical leadership and direction to global, cross-functional teams
Adoption and Utilization of AI Toolset to improve efficiency of development
What You Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics
Technical Excellence: Extensive experience and knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Project Management: Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Requirements Analysis: Extensive experience and knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Product Design and Development: Extensive experience and knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

This position is in Mossville, IL and requires 5-day a week on-site availability

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
