About the Role:

The Contracts Manager – Power & Energy is a senior leader accountable for end-to-end ownership of commercially complex, high-value contracts. Drives contract strategy, leads negotiations, ensures compliance, and delivers executable commercial agreements aligned to business objectives and enterprise risk frameworks.

Additional Information:

  • Houston, Texas is the preferred location for this role. Relocation eligibility will be evaluated based on candidate qualifications
  • This role will require 5 days onsite
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

What Will You Do:

  • Lead development of complex, non-standard agreements aligned to strategy
  • Lead and shape high-stakes negotiations end-to-end
  • Strategic advisor influencing deal structure and outcomes
  • Owns enterprise-level risk strategy and contract mitigation decisions
  • Drives full lifecycle governance and accountability across industry segments

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • 15+ years of complex contracts experience
  • Power and Energy industry experience

What Will You Have:

  • Contracts Review: Knowledge of contractual and legal matters related to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.); ability to evaluate, interpret and improve the language used in contractual agreements.
  • Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information.
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
