What you will do may include, but not limited to:
- Lead the team to achieve all New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables including cost, velocity, reliability, and quality targets.
- Lead the team in Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) activities by addressing feedback from Product Support and Manufacturing.
- Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, commercial, and product support.
- Daily coaching and mentoring; motivating and developing project team and team members.
- Provide leadership for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
- Oversee project progress, communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and lifecycle efficiency.
- Develop budgets and provide regular updates and forecasts.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering curriculum with progressive engineering and product development experience.
- Progressive engineering and product development experience.
Top Candidates will also have:
- Experience directing design staff; motivating and developing team members in a high-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environment and to communicate effectively in cross functional teams.
- Executed all phases of a new product development program.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Personal experience in executing APQP from beginning to end.
- Previous experience designing complex welded steel structures.
- Hands-on experience (e.g. machinery, heavy equipment, manufacturing processes, welding, etc.)
What Skills you will have:
Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
