Job Description
Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Manager of Logistics in Sanford, NC supporting Compact Track Loader (CTL) manufacturing factory. In this role, you will be accountable for the coordination of material, equipment, workforce, quality and meeting production schedules and customer satisfaction across multiple warehouse facilities supporting CTL manufacturing. Major responsibilities include directing the work of others, problem solving and resolution and coordination with support departments.
What You Will Do:
- Develop strategy and take actions to improve or eliminate safety risks within logistics.
- Developing and implementing strategies inspiring continuous improvement of logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning, driving root cause and corrective action.
- Driving improvements for overall logistics performance and implementing safety, quality, velocity, compliance, and cost control mechanisms.
- Overseeing logistics activities, ensuring that safety, schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
- Determine/deploy actions require addressing performance shortfalls, growth, and continuous improvement related to logistics, implementing Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma and Internal Certification processes.
- Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for logistics staff, managing, motivating, and developing the management team.
- Directing the work of leaders, problem solving, resolution and coordination with support departments and developing strategy for logistics execution.
- Creating and managing budget requirements, cost savings project plans, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards are maintained.

- Inventory Management: Processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage inventories of materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
- Logistics Management: Logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
- Problem Solving: Approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Project Management: Effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or logistics discipline
- Experience in Logistics
- Experience in leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects
- Experience working in a high-velocity manufacturing or logistics environment
- Knowledge of industry benchmarks, innovation, and trends in process and technology
- 5 years direct supervisory experience

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
