Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Senior IT Analyst Applications( Manufacturing Business Analyst )to join our Applications Development & Intelligence Automation -CAT IT Division Bangalore Team.

The Incumbent would bring deep functional expertise across core manufacturing / quality domains—Parts / BOM / Process Plans / Routing / Instructions / labor tracking, combined with strong analytical and systems knowledge. This role focuses on translating complex supply chain operations into scalable processes, clear requirements, and data-driven solutions that improve service levels, reduce costs, and enable end-to-end visibility.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN Office, KA-India

What you will do

• Manufacturing domain process knowledge
  Deep understanding of shop-floor and planning processes (e.g., routing/BOM, work orders, scheduling, WIP tracking, quality, scrap/rework, traceability, OEE, inventory movements).
• Requirements elicitation + documentation (end-to-end)
  Ability to run workshops, capture AS-IS/TO-BE, write clear user stories/use cases, define acceptance criteria, and manage scope, priorities, and change control with stakeholders.
• System/data integration understanding (MES–ERP–PLM–SCADA/IIoT)
  Comfortable mapping interfaces and data flows (master data vs. transactional data), defining integration requirements (real-time vs batch), and partnering with IT on APIs, middleware, and shop-floor connectivity.
• Data + reporting competency
  Strong grasp of manufacturing master data (items, BOMs, routings, resources), KPI definitions, and reporting/analytics needs; able to validate data quality and support dashboards/standard reports (often using SQL/Excel/BI tools).
• Testing, deployment, and operational readiness
  Experience creating test plans/cases, coordinating UAT, supporting cutover, training users, and defining SOPs—plus post-go-live triage and continuous improvement backlog management.
• Assisting in the development, testing, and delivery of services/products; Analyzing existing offerings, preparing technical documentation, and recommending upgrades.
• Conducting market research to do a comparative analysis of competitor offerings and provide recommendations for developing a more effective product/service.
• Identifying user/client requirements for a product or service and defining technical specifications; Preparing technical documentation and sharing them with senior analysts and technical teams.
• Supporting senior analysts by fulfilling their data requests, preparing reports, and providing technical assistance; Participating in initiatives to improve processes efficiency and employee productivity.

Additional Information:

Work Timings: 01:00 Noon -10:00PM IST

This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Supply Chain Expertise: The Supply Chain Business Analyst brings deep functional expertise across core supply chain domains—planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, and logistics—combined with strong analytical and systems knowledge. This role focuses on translating complex supply chain operations into scalable processes, clear requirements, and data-driven solutions that improve service levels, reduce costs, and enable end-to-end visibility.

• Analyze and document end‑to‑end supply chain processes, including demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, and order fulfillment, to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with planners, buyers, warehouse, manufacturing, and logistics teams to translate operational needs into functional requirements for ERP and supply chain applications.
• Support configuration and optimization of supply chain systems (e.g., MRP/MPS, safety stock, ATP/CTP, lead times, lot sizing) to improve service levels, inventory turns, and planning accuracy.
• Develop and validate business rules, data models, KPIs, and reports related to forecast accuracy, inventory health, supplier performance, and order execution.
• Lead process design workshops, UAT, and change management activities, ensuring solutions align with standard supply chain best practices and enable scalable, repeatable operations.
