Job Summary:
Responsible for applying decisions to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth, NPI process, process improvement, sales management process improvement, etc. You will apply your knowledge of products, technology, industry, etc., in support of Caterpillar, dealer and customer expectations and needs and contribute to strategic planning.
As a Small Wheel Loader (SWL) (910-938) Product Consultant supporting the South America region, you will provide product and application expertise to the global field sales rep teams and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution and alignment (i.e. right sizing bucket). You will also provide significant support to the Product Group and New Product Introduction (NPI) Managers during various NPI phases in terms of voice of the customer collection/communication, development of functional specifications, critical customer requirements and the creation of Sales Support Materials. You will also be very engaged in competitive tests and analysis, creating sales support initiatives to help the industry team drive SWL sales in ADSD-S.
What You’ll Do
Support Sales Execution: Provide product and application expertise to the global field sales rep teams and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution, price realization and improved value proposition
Responsible for developing and delivering product and application training to field reps, dealers & customers
Identify, manage and provide reports on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons and maintenance and repair cost analysis
Support New SWL Product Introduction Development: Provides significant input to SWL Product Group and NPI team(s) for next generation product development activities.
Assist in defining and placing value on new product features, functional and technical specifications, and general product requirements
Provide SWL Product Group with industry-specific trends based on customers’ operational data and benchmarking
Respond and/or action dealer requests and product queries in a timely manner
Support in territory trade shows, being the face of Caterpillar representing BCP (910-938) Wheel Loaders
You will be responsible for arranging transportation for all SWLs in relation to Expos, Training and competitive rental machines.
You will manage the Wheel Loader Loan account, assuring new machines are ordered and correctly configured as well as managing the sale and disposal of existing units.

Value Selling: Ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Basic requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Pre-Advanced English
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Job-related experience within an engineering, product group, industry, or sales support background
A broad knowledge and understanding of Caterpillar products, commercial strategies, dealer operations and capabilities
Experience interacting with Caterpillar’s dealer network either in an industry or product support capacity
Experience operating Small Wheel Loaders
Additional Details
Up to 30% travel will be expected for this role (domestic and international)
