Construction Industries (CI) is one of three primary segments of Caterpillar (Construction Industries, Resources Industries and Power & Energy) and is comprised of seven divisions. Collectively, the teams across the segment are responsible for business strategy, product design and development, manufacturing, supply management, marketing and sales, and product support.

The product portfolio includes asphalt pavers, backhoe loaders, cold planers, compactors, compact track loaders, forestry machines, material handlers, motor graders, pipelayers, road reclaimers, skid steer loaders, telehandlers, track-type loaders, track-type tractors (small, medium), track excavators (mini, small, medium, large), wheel excavators, wheel loaders (compact, small, medium), and related parts and work tools.

The Communications Specialist – Construction Industries (CI) Process Excellence supports the design, development, production and consultation on various internal and external communications processes, materials and media. The role partners closely with the CI communications team supporting commercial divisions as well as cross-functional experts to shape messaging and drive alignment that advance the organization's business objectives.

This position will report to the communications manager for CI Process Excellence and will create employee communications content and participate in the planning and execution of communications initiatives across the commercial teams and the segment.

What You Will Do:

· Collaborate with subject matter experts, business leaders, legal, media relations and communications colleagues to develop content for internal and external audiences, including success stories, announcements, large events, presentations, speeches and articles

· Apply Lean principles and process excellence to enhance quality and accelerate delivery, ensuring streamlined, high-impact communications.

· Embrace technology and innovation to reach and engage audiences in new and creative ways

· Translate complex concepts into clear, audience-appropriate communications for internal and external stakeholders

· Uphold brand standards by maintaining a consistent tone and style across all content, adhering to brand guidelines and voice

· Analyze performance, monitor communications metrics to refine strategies and continuously improve engagement

· Collaborating with internal stakeholders and advising on the suitability of approaches for communication efforts.

What You Will Have (Basic Skills Required):

· Communicating for Impact: Experience with concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.

· Planning and Organizing: Ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

· Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.

· Interpersonal Relationships: The ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

· Copywriting and Editing: Ability to write, review and edit texts and documents.

· Internal Communications: Ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees.

· Multimedia Technologies: Knowledge of multimedia publishing technologies and procedures; ability to use installed audio, visual and animation software tools to produce multimedia publications.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in communications, marketing, journalism or related field, or considerable job-related experience in corporate communications with proficiency in digital communication tools

· Ability to create and tell stories through visual mediums (graphic design, video, etc.)

· Experience delivering strategies and communications that effectively support change initiatives and alignment to organizational/business goals

· A proven ability to thrive within a complex, matrixed environment

Additional Information:

· The location for this position is Irving, TX or Peoria, IL

· Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

· Must be able to travel up to 10% (Domestic and International)

· Candidates must be able to provide samples of work (writing, communication plan, portfolio, video, etc.)

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
