About the Opportunity

MineStar is transforming the way mines operate through automation, digitisation, analytics and AI.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key technical role in designing and delivering modern, intuitive digital experiences that help mining customers improve safety, efficiency and operational performance.

Working within the Product & Platform team, your primary focus will be front-end application development using React, Angular and TypeScript, creating responsive, scalable and user-focused applications. You will work closely with UX specialists, Product Owners, architects and other engineers to translate customer needs and designs into high-quality digital products.

While this role is primarily front-end focused, you will also bring practical Python backend development experience, enabling you to develop or modify APIs and backend services when required and work effectively across the full application stack.

This is a hands-on senior development role for someone who combines strong front-end engineering skills with good software design principles, an eye for user experience and enough backend capability to deliver end-to-end solutions when needed.

What you will be involved in:

• Design, develop, test and maintain modern web applications using React, Angular and TypeScript.
• Build responsive, intuitive and accessible user interfaces that deliver high-quality customer experiences.
• Translate UX designs, prototypes and business requirements into scalable and maintainable front-end solutions.
• Develop reusable front-end components, patterns and libraries that improve consistency and development efficiency across products.
• Contribute to front-end architecture, application structure, technology choices and engineering standards.
• Optimise applications for performance, reliability, usability and maintainability.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, data services, MineStar capabilities and other enterprise platforms.
• Develop and maintain Python backend services and APIs when required, supporting end-to-end application delivery.
• Work with AWS cloud services to develop and deploy scalable digital applications.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX specialists, architects and engineers to translate customer and business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Apply strong engineering practices across automated testing, code quality, security, performance, observability and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews, providing constructive guidance and promoting consistent engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot complex front-end, integration and production issues and drive them through to resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tools, standards and reusable components.
• Mentor and support other developers while contributing to a collaborative engineering culture.
• Work with globally distributed teams and delivery partners to deliver reliable and supportable solutions.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer from a Mining background, with deep front-end engineering capability and the ability to contribute across the broader application stack when required.

Front-end expertise is the priority for this role.

You will bring:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Significant experience delivering production-grade web applications.
• Strong development experience with React and Angular, including large-scale, maintainable applications.
• Strong capability in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with responsive design, accessibility, front-end performance and modern UX practices.
• Experience developing reusable components and maintainable front-end architectures.
• Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and data services.
• Practical Python backend development experience, including APIs and services.
• Experience developing cloud-based applications using AWS.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, automated testing, source control and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering standards.

Highly regarded experience includes:

• Modern front-end state management, component libraries, design systems and automated testing.
• Experience working with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including database integration and querying.
• Python APIs, microservices and cloud-native development.
• Serverless, containerised or event-driven architectures on AWS.
• Data, analytics, automation or AI-enabled applications.
• Mining, industrial or operational technology experience.
• Knowledge of MineStar™ or comparable mining technology platforms.
• Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.

• Full-time position based in Redcliffe, Perth.
• Travel requirements up to 10%.
• Domestic relocation maybe offered to the ideal candidate
