What to expect: As a Maintenance Technician I (General) team member, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance for a variety of facility machine centers, as well as simple repairs on production and building equipment and systems. You will also assist other equipment and facilities maintenance colleagues on specified projects and advanced machines maintenance with oversight. Pay Rate and Schedule:

The position includes a total wage of $26.98 /hour plus a comprehensive Day-One Benefits program. Total compensation includes a base hourly of $25.73/hr plus an additional shift differential of $1.25/hr. Paid weekly. Paid time-off: Vacation, holiday, and Winter Holiday*. Retirement: 401K matching AND additional 2-5% annual company contribution*.

Openings available on 2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization. All initial communication and status updates will be via email.


Required Qualifications for Consideration (minimum):

  • Six months minimum machine maintenance, vehicle/mechanic experience, or manufacturing line maintenance experience OR a recent technical degree or certificate in a related trades field to include maintenance and troubleshooting

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Ability to read and interpret machine blueprint and drawings.

  • Six months combined minimum experience within Caterpillar Paving

  • Prior experience in a heavy manufacturing environment

Equipment maintenance will include but is not limited to:

  • Corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting repairing and installing parts on machines and equipment:

  • Pumps and valves

  • Fixtures

  • Cranes

  • Forklifts and other mobile equipment

  • Maintenance vehicle PM and repairs

Additional Assignments:

  • Snow removal

  • Yard maintenance (in all weather conditions)

  • Low voltage electrical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting

  • Pipefitting

  • General carpentry

  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic prints

  • Maintenance vehicle PM and repairs

May perform maintenance activities at both Brooklyn Park and Rogers, MN facilities.

In the role of Maintenance Technician I / General Maintenance, additionally, you can expect to coordinate and prioritize work to meet production schedules. Daily prioritize and confirm work orders using electronic maintenance system. Take initiative to identify, document, communicate and correct problems, report discrepancies and recommend solutions. Work and interact effectively in a team environment in alignment with our code of conduct and values in action. Support team People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) initiatives and daily activities. May work various shift and workday schedules to meet customer and team needs. Works inside and outside and in various weather conditions. Complete projects as needed. Work with limited supervision. Operate equipment including forklift, man lift, maintenance truck, snowplow truck. Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes and hoists.

Work Environment

  • Work various shifts and workday schedules including nights and weekends- If deemed your schedule

  • Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures and all-weather conditions

  • Exposure to magnets that may impact medical devices

Physical Requirements

  • Noise levels of 85db or greater

  • Lift up to 35lbs frequently

  • Work at multiple heights

  • Climb on equipment, machines, ladders, man lifts and various step stools

  • Stand for a minimum of 8 hour shifts with minimal breaks

  • Kneel, squat, and crawl on knees

  • Work in awkward positions, including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting and forward head and rotation of neck.

  • Work in tight spaces

  • Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating

  • Use of fine motor skills

  • Use of maintenance hand tools

Summary Pay Range:

$25.73 - $33.08
