As an Engineering Manager for detailing team, you will lead and drive the review, validation, and quality assurance of 3D layouts, models, and detailed drawings for LPSD Engine Systems and Thermal Cooling Products. You are responsible for ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet safety, design intent, company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role is critical in influencing design quality, improving First Time Right (FTR), and driving engineering excellence across multiple engine platforms, including C27/32, 3500, C175, 3600, and C280 diesel and gas engines.
In addition to the strong technical expertise, this role requires people management and proven leadership skills to collaborate between onsite and offsite detailing teams, manage suppliers and prudent budget management.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Review 3D models and drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards
- Maintain, analyze data and feedback to improve First Time Right (FTR)
- Performance review management of full-time detailing engineers
- Offsite supplier quality management
- Work closely with ESP stakeholders to resolve design and manufacturing issues
- Proficiency in current engineering standards and CAT 1e specs
- Familiarity on various manufacturing processes such as castings, fabrications and forging of machinal components.
- Well versed in GD&T and its application in respective manufacturing prints.
- Guide the team on Single Checking Process and ensure that the team is well equipped to release prints without compromise on quality.
- Increase PINS by closely working with L3 Engineers based out of U.S/India/Mexico and China.
- Strong collaborator with external checking and releasing team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with 10+ years of related experience
- Strong experience in 3D CAD tools and engineering design practices
- Good understanding of engine component design, manufacturing processes, and quality standards
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, networking and team building skills

- Works with team members to reprioritize tasks and adjust schedules when needed
- Provides guidance and support to others in developing effective technical solutions
- Drives process improvements and introduce new methods to enhance efficiency and speed of development
Additional Information: Location of this position is in Chennai, India. This job requires all five days to work from office.
