As a Supply Chain Project Engineer, you will help shape the future of enterprise planning by bridging evolving business processes with digital planning technologies. This role supports the transformation of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) capabilities and helps connect planning activities across demand, supply, inventory, factory, and supplier planning to enable more integrated decision-making across the supply chain.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Rental, and Information Technology teams, you will translate business processes into business requirements, support the implementation of planning and orchestration solutions, and help align planning capabilities with business objectives. You will partner with stakeholders to define requirements, coordinate project activities, document processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve planning effectiveness, operational performance, and supply chain agility.

What you will do:

• Translate supply chain and planning process requirements into business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and digital enablement.
• Support the implementation of planning and orchestration solutions by working with business and technology teams.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and document business rules, workflows, and process objectives.
• Coordinate project activities, track deliverables, identify risks, and support issue resolution.
• Assist with testing, deployment, training, and adoption of new processes and system capabilities.
• Analyze data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and implementation artifacts.
• Collaborate across Supply Chain, Sales, Rental, Operations, and Information Technology organizations to achieve project objectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve planning effectiveness, inventory utilization, customer service, and operational performance.

• Utilizes benchmarks and performance measures to assess planning effectiveness.
• Supports development and monitoring of metrics that drive business improvements.
• Communicates performance results and improvement opportunities to key stakeholders.

Standard Operating Procedures

• Documents and maintains business processes and standard operating procedures.
• Supports implementation and adoption of standardized business practices.
• Reviews process effectiveness and recommends enhancements to improve consistency and efficiency.

Top candidates will also have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting business process improvement, supply chain operations, planning functions, project execution, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical process improvements and technology requirements.

Additional Information:

• Location: This position can be based in Irving, TX or Peoria, IL and requires on-site work five days a week.
• Relocation: Domestic relocation assistance is available.
• Travel Requirements: This position may require up to 25% travel.
• Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship, international assignments, and payroll transfers are not available for this role.

Summary Pay Range:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
