This is an intentional development position (IDP), lasting no longer than 18 months. Upon completion of this developmental assignment, the selected candidate would return to their prior role. The IDP position available through this role will be assigned to the Facilities team supporting Caterpillar’s Sanford, NC site. The successful candidate must take safety very seriously. The successful candidate must also be willing to receive instruction while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • 1st Shift: Mon-Thurs 7:00AM - 4PM, Friday 7:00AM – 11:00AM Overtime as business needs require

Job duties may include the following:

  • Cross-functional communication to complete tasks.
  • Effective teamwork
  • Provides summaries to leadership
  • Serve as administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues related to purchasing, personnel, facilities, logistics and operations
  • Serve as the coordinator for customer visits.
  • Assist in budget preparation and control activities.
  • Assist in basic scheduling tasks.
  • Will require to offload tankers for diesel, glycol, hydraulic, etc. at the tank farm
  • Operate a floor scrubber, outdoor sweeper, and forklift

Physical requirements may include the following:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations; Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Minimum requirements include:

  • 1 year experience in customer service
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Excel)

Top candidates will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in purchasing/inventory
  • Experience with Nextgen/Coupa
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced Problem Solving/Troubleshooting Ability
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • 2 years of related administrative support experience

Within 6 months the selected candidate is expected to become skilled in a variety of applications and tools mentioned above. Therefore, the selected candidate should demonstrate an eagerness to learn and advance their skill set. The selected candidate should also feel comfortable communicating questions, both verbally and through written means. The successful candidate must also display the maturity to work independently.

Summary Pay Range:

$21.70 - $27.35

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
