Job Summary:

As the Principal Technical Product Manager for Customer Readiness & Experience, you will be responsible for defining and executing the customer adoption strategy for autonomous solutions. This role serves as the voice of the customer within the autonomous product organization, ensuring customer needs, operational objectives, and business priorities are translated into actionable product investments and deployment plans.

The position owns project wave definition and prioritization, customer identification and selection, go-to-market readiness, customer deployment readiness, and milestone execution. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Deployment, Operations, and Customer Success teams, this role ensures autonomous solutions are delivered to the right customers at the right time with the appropriate level of readiness, support, and business value realization.


What You Will Do:

Maximize the value of autonomous solutions and define work for multiple cross-functional teams. Collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineering, Deployment, Operations, Commercial, and Customer-facing teams to own and progressively elaborate functional and non-functional Epics and Features required for successful customer adoption and deployment. The Product Manager is empowered to make all decisions regarding the Customer Readiness & Experience for CI Autonomous Solutions.

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog according to business value, customer needs, deployment readiness, and market priorities for the life of the project.
  • Responsible for product vision and conveying that vision to the team.
  • Owns definition of acceptance criteria for customer readiness, deployment readiness, adoption milestones, and customer success outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary voice of the customer by gathering, prioritizing, and communicating customer needs, feedback, operational challenges, and adoption opportunities.
  • Own project wave planning, including customer selection, prioritization, deployment sequencing, and business value realization strategies.
  • Identify and qualify customer deployment candidates based on business objectives, operational readiness, technical fit, and strategic priorities.
  • Drive go-to-market readiness activities across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Deployment, Operations, Training, and Support organizations.
  • Define and manage customer deployment readiness criteria, milestones, and success metrics for autonomous solution implementations.
  • Coordinate customer onboarding, operational readiness assessments, training requirements, stakeholder alignment, and deployment planning activities.
  • Partner with deployment teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of autonomous solutions at proving grounds and customer sites.
  • Communicates deployment readiness, customer milestones, roadmap updates, adoption metrics, and business outcomes to stakeholders and customers.
  • Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

What You Will Have:

  • Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify customer, business, and operational needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders and customers.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze customer needs, business priorities, operational readiness, risks, and deployment constraints to reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, customer feedback, and business needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Customer Experience and Adoption Management: Knowledge of customer journey planning, adoption strategies, customer readiness assessments, deployment planning, and value realization methodologies.
  • Go-to-Market and Commercial Readiness: Knowledge of go-to-market planning, customer segmentation, deployment waves, market introduction strategies, and cross-functional launch readiness processes.
  • Autonomous Solutions Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects, operational considerations, deployment challenges, and customer adoption requirements associated with autonomous solutions.
  • Program and Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of program management methodologies, milestone planning, cross-functional coordination, dependency management, and stakeholder engagement practices.

Consideration For Top Candidates:

  • Lead customer adoption and deployment programs from strategy development through customer rollout, value realization, and operational adoption.
  • Typically will have 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Customer Success, Program Management, Deployment Management, Commercial Operations, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the voice of the customer and translating customer needs into product priorities, deployment plans, and business outcomes.
  • Experience defining customer deployment waves, customer selection criteria, adoption strategies, and rollout sequencing for complex products or solutions.
  • Experience driving go-to-market readiness, launch planning, customer onboarding, stakeholder engagement, and deployment readiness activities.
  • Experience supporting autonomous systems, connected products, advanced technology programs, or customer-facing technology deployments preferred.

  • This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Irving, TX office (Dallas)

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $240,110.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
