Join the Asia Pacific Distribution (APD) team as a Senior Communications Specialist. In this role, you will create innovative and tailored communications solutions that drive awareness, understanding, adoption and execution of Caterpillar’s strategy. This role provides an opportunity to advise the Senior Vice President and leadership team on sharing impactful stories and crafting clear messages. You’ll also play a key role in collaborating with key business partners to ensure alignment of messaging to dealer executive leadership.

The APD team works closely with Cat® dealers across Asia Pacific to address customer pain points so dealers deliver an easy, superior customer experience everywhere, every time.

What You Will Do

• Work across a large, matrixed organization to develop, own and execute integrated communications plans that support APD priorities, enterprise strategy and senior leadership objectives.

• Develop communication strategies, plans, and deliverables for the APD Distribution Senior Vice President and leadership team.

• Provide end-to-end communications support for executive-level engagements, including leadership forums, employee events and enterprise visibility opportunities, ensuring clear messaging and stakeholder alignment.

• Support governance and consistency of internal communications by establishing and maintaining clear processes, standards and review mechanisms.

• Collaborate across teams: partner with business leaders, subject matter experts and communications colleagues to develop content for internal and external audiences, including announcements, leadership messaging, presentations, speeches, articles and campaign materials.

• Uphold brand consistency: Ensure all communications align with Caterpillar brand standards, style, tone and voice.

• Measure effectiveness: Monitor communications performance and apply insights to improve engagement and impact.

What You Will Have (Required)

• Education/Experience: University degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience (5-10 years experience in the communications field)

• Languages: Proficiency in English required

• Organizational Communications: Experience leading global communications efforts

• Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan; ability to measure business impact for communications efforts

• Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience

• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

• Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization

• Interpersonal Relationships: Successful in supporting and interacting with senior level executives; excellent interpersonal skills to engage on sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions

• Microsoft Office 365: Advanced proficiency, particularly in PowerPoint, with strong capabilities in creating professional, visually impactful presentations.

• This role requires travelling up to 15% of the time within Asia Pacific region.

• This position requires working onsite five days a week.
