Job Title: Metrology Technician
Hourly Rate: £15.94 (exclusive of shift premium)
Location: Peterborough, Cambridge

Join Our Quality Team and Make Precision Count
We're looking for a highly skilled and quality-focused professional who is passionate about precision measurement, continuous improvement, and delivering excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for developing measurement plans, creating CMM programs, performing complex gauge calibration, and interpreting engineering drawings to support accurate inspection and reporting.
You will play a key part in maintaining the highest quality standards, ensuring zero defects are passed to downstream customers, while providing detailed reports for both internal stakeholders and external third parties. With a strong eye for detail, the ability to identify quality and process improvements, and the confidence to influence and drive compliance, you will help shape a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What You Will Do:
Define measurement plans required to measure a specific component.
Create CMM programs to enable measurement of components
Perform complex gauge calibration
Be able to read & interpret drawings to enable program creation
Providing accurate reports to internal and external customers
Provide written reports suitable for external use (3rd party)
Be responsible and accountable for following standard processes to maintain a high-quality standard and ensure that zero defects are passed on to downstream customers
Visual awareness and identification of defective components & assemblies
Able to identify and highlight quality and process problems, raising continuous improvement (CI) cards with resolution ideas demonstrating a depth of process and product knowledge
Strong ability to motivate, influence, drive compliance and continuous improvement.
What You Have:
Experience of using CMM equipment utlising Calypso software
Experience of using Klingelberg measuring equipment
Experience of Talysurf I series and Metrology 4.0 software
Be able to read & interpret drawings to enable program creation
Good working knowledge of engineering, design and manufacturing processes.
Excellent in the use of Office 365 applications with particular attention to analysis.
HNC or higher in a Technical or Engineering qualification.
Previous experiences in Metrology/Measurement/Quality
Good working knowledge of Quality Standards and Manufacturing Operations

This role is based at the Peterborough facility and will require shift work in line with business requirements.
