Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) leads the development, optimization, and standardization of CNC machining processes to ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role provides technical leadership for machining centers, turning centers, tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, equipment utilization, process capability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position is accountable for supporting production stability, improving cycle time and OEE, reducing scrap and rework, and ensuring that machined components meet engineering specifications, quality requirements, and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop manufacturing engineering teams focused on CNC machining operations, providing technical guidance, coaching, and training to improve plant performance.
Own the design, validation, and improvement of machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, CNC programs, routings, standard work, process layouts, and operational standards.
Optimize cutting parameters, cycle times, tool life, machine utilization, and process capability to improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for machining defects, dimensional variation, downtime, tooling failures, and equipment-related issues, implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Support new product introductions, engineering changes, machine moves, equipment installations, and process modifications to ensure manufacturing readiness and successful production launches.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, safety, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives across machining cells, using data-driven analysis to improve OEE, throughput, scrap, rework, and overall process stability.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
Expertise in CNC machining processes, including machining centers, turning centers, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC programming concepts, and optimization of machining parameters.
Advanced English.

Lean Manufacturing:
Champions the integration and adoption of lean manufacturing philosophies across the organization.
Educates and mentors colleagues on lean principles, including their application to operations, logistics, and product development.
Consults on work cell and layout designs, ensuring alignment with lean objectives, and leads initiatives to measure and monitor lean performance.
Manufacturing Processes:
Applies deep machining knowledge to define, validate, and optimize CNC processes for milling, turning, drilling, boring, tapping, and related secondary operations.
Develops and maintains process documentation, routings, standard work, tooling sheets, setup instructions, and best practices for machining operations.
Uses process data, dimensional results, capability studies, and production metrics to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and process stability improvement.
Leads validation and implementation of new machining technologies, tools, fixtures, and equipment to strengthen competitiveness and operational performance.
Manufacturing Equipment:
Provides technical support for CNC machining equipment, fixtures, work holding systems, cutting tools, gauges, and related production assets.
Partners with maintenance, operations, quality, and suppliers to improve machine uptime, preventive maintenance effectiveness, tool life, and equipment reliability.
Supports equipment selection, commissioning, machine moves, layouts, and process modifications to ensure safe, capable, and efficient machining operations.
Problem Solving:
Apply structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, A3, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, and root-cause analysis to address machining issues.
Analyzes dimensional variation, surface finish concerns, tool wear, machine downtime, fixture issues, and process instability using data and shop-floor observations.
Balances safety, quality, delivery, velocity, and cost when evaluating corrective actions and process alternatives.
Documents lessons learned and standardized solutions to prevent recurrence across machining cells and similar processes.

Location: Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon.
This position is six-day a week in-office model.
