As the Finance Director for Caterpillar Oil & Gas, you will provide leadership and oversight of the financial reporting, forecasting and business support functions. This role works across highly diverse and global teams to deliver insights that drive the business forward and partners with the business to develop and execute strategic priorities of the business, including solutions and services that meet customer needs, and drive profitable growth. The role reports to the Division CFO of Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division (COGMD) and supports the VP of Caterpillar Oil & Gas.
COGMD has a diverse and global portfolio encompassing the brands Cat, MaK, and SPM. Over 2500 employees in 25 countries deliver excellence in manufacturing, sales, services and operations to our customers. The products and services of our business units Cat Oil & Gas, SPM Oil & Gas and Marine include engines, transmissions, pumps, flow iron, pressure control, carbon capture as well as systems integration and digital.
What You Will Do:
- Managing monthly financial analysis and reporting for the business
- Providing oversight of the oil & gas services accounting and reporting functions
- Leading the development of the financial forecasts and annual business plan
- Delivering commercial support for the development of new business models and pricing decisions
- Partnering with legal and commercial team from contract development through review and approval
- Providing technical guidance and expertise on highly complex accounting issues
- Developing essential business information to drive optimization of short and long-term value creation and the achievement of financial and non-financial objectives.
- Provide strategic counsel to enhance value and performance and position the business for long-term success
- Ensure proper trade-offs and focus on return-on-investments are driven in accordance with maximum total outcome for the enterprise
- Championing a compliance first culture through ensuring high integrity reporting and a strong financial and regulatory (trade, anti-bribery, data privacy and fair competition) control environment.
- Developing the best team through coaching, training & development, and career planning
What You Have:
- Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Organizational Governance: Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies
- Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
- Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
- Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related discipline with a strong background in accounting and budget development
- Significant years of progressively responsible job-related experience
- Strong analytical skills and rigorous attention to detail required to perform detailed financial analysis & develop business insights
- Strong ability to collaborate, influence and partner with the business and peers
- Ability to maintain an enterprise point of view and lead with Caterpillar values
- Prior leadership experience and organizational capability building

- The primary location for this position is Houston, TX

Summary Pay Range:
$189,080.00 - $283,630.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
