Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

As an Aftermarket Consultant – Wear, you will develop and execute aftermarket strategies for Wear across Australia, New Zealand and Japan, supporting Dealers and Aftermarket Services Representatives (ASRs) to drive Sales to Users (STU) growth. You will develop regional go-to-market strategies and programs, identify growth opportunities and help strengthen dealer capability across undercarriage (UC) and ground engaging tools (GET).

This role is a key interface between regional sales teams, industry teams, global service support, Product Groups and Dealers. You will serve as a regional subject-matter expert for the Wear business, translating market, dealer and customer insights into practical commercial strategies and solutions.

You will also work with senior management and cross-functional partners to develop regional growth plans, merchandising programs and dealer initiatives that support long-term aftermarket growth.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute Wear product and go-to-market strategies across Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
  • Identify aftermarket growth opportunities, business issues and market barriers, and develop regional strategies to address them.
  • Support the execution of growth and turnaround plans across priority dealers, customers and market segments.
  • Provide market-driven recommendations on parts targets, growth priorities and commercial strategies to support regional STU objectives.
  • Develop and support marketing and merchandising programs that drive Wear growth and strengthen dealer execution.
  • Gather Voice of Dealer (VOD) and Voice of Customer (VOC) insights from regional teams and translate them into clear requirements and opportunities for enterprise partners.
  • Analyze key competitors, including their positioning, merchandising strengths, weaknesses and tactics, and use these insights to strengthen Cat value propositions.
  • Develop consistent regional go-to-market programs while adapting execution to local market and dealer needs.
  • Build dealer capability through product, application and value-selling training, including support for Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSRs).
  • Provide guidance and training to ASRs on Wear products, solutions, growth opportunities and evolving industry needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Groups, industry teams and other enterprise partners to address product, availability, application and customer-value needs.

What You Have
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, marketing or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7–10 years of relevant commercial, product marketing, sales or technical experience, with a strong understanding of customers, dealers, industries and products.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing commercial growth initiatives, including go-to-market programs, pricing or value-positioning initiatives, and new product introductions.
  • Strong accountability, initiative, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for both customer and enterprise needs.
  • Ability to communicate and influence across multiple levels of customer, dealer and internal management.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Japanese language proficiency is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, mining or a related industry, with a sales, commercial or technical background.
  • Knowledge of Wear products and services, particularly undercarriage and ground engaging tools, is an advantage.
  • Experience working with dealer networks and developing dealer sales capability.
Additional language capabilities are an advantage.
