Role Definition
To provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities and Facilities Engineering, Maintenance related activities to a large facility.
Responsibilities
• Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
• Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
• Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
• Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Directing staffing, development and performance management programs for all facilities management staff; managing, motivating and developing management team.
• Maintaining communications and relationships with customers, local community, service providers, and utilities.
• Developing plans and strategies for infrastructure and processes needed to run a manufacturing facility in accordance with regulatory procedures and environmental standards.
• Planning the implementation and use of programs and databases for effectively managing properties, physical assets and equipment.

• Formulates health and safety plans and policies, e.g. a fire safety plan and road safety policy.
