About the Role:
As a Sr. Business Process Specialist, you will be responsible for a strategic asset tracking platform that integrates data across multiple enterprise systems. You will analyze large datasets, resolve data quality issues, and deliver insights that support business decisions across the organization. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and the ability to navigate complex data processes. Success in this position depends on business acumen, commercial and business process knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for data-driven problem solving.

What You Will Do:

• Own and maintain the Global Population Tracking (GPT) tool, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement of population data and engine location insights.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert on GPT methodology, business rules, logic hierarchy, and underlying data sources.
• Partner with software developers and data teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and support future development.
• Collaborate with Power & Energy business units to understand business needs and ensure GPT delivers actionable insights.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for internal stakeholders and Caterpillar dealers.
• Support marketing and commercial processes that leverage population data, including parts opportunity identification, market analysis, and strategic planning activities.
• Conduct ad hoc research and analytical projects using GPT data and related information sources.
• Monitor data quality and coordinate resolution of data integration, loading, and reporting issues. Investigate data anomalies, system issues, and unexpected results through root-cause analysis and data validation activities.
• Provide training, documentation, and user support to ensure effective utilization of GPT tools and reporting resources.
• Maintain effective communication across business, technical, and dealer stakeholder groups to ensure alignment on priorities, enhancements, and business outcomes.

What You Will Have:

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Expert understanding of complex data models, business rules, and analytical methodologies including development and maintenance of PowerBI reporting to transform the data into actionable business insights.
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicates findings to technical and non-technical audiences, identify trends and opportunities and resolve data quality concerns.
• Act as the primary point of contact between developers and business stakeholders through building strong relationships across business units in Power & Energy, dealer organization and technical teams. Facilitate alignment on priorities, requirements and enhancement opportunities and communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and business focused manner.
• Perform detailed root-cause analysis of data discrepancies, system issues or user misunderstandings.
• Demonstrate persistence and investigative skills to resolve complex business and data challenges including validating population data, research results and technical break/fix issues.
