About the Role:
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily plant operations and project management by ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across manufacturing, maintenance, and distribution activities. This role drives operational performance through strong people management leadership, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement, while partnering cross-functionally to maintain production flow and meet business objectives. The Operations Manager owns plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, with a focus on operational excellence, and budget management.

What You Will Do:
- Lead and develop plant personnel including hiring, performance management, training, and overall workforce planning to ensure a high-performing team.
- Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to deliver cost-effective, high-quality products in a safe and compliant environment.
- Own accountability for plant safety and quality performance, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks by partnering with Distribution Center (DC), Buyers, and Production Control to maintain production flow.
- Oversee equipment reliability and maintenance strategies to ensure operational uptime and efficiency.
- Drive value stream optimization and lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity, reduce waste, and meet business objectives.
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and internal targets, ensuring execution against plan.
- Monitor operational performance metrics and remove barriers impacting output, quality, or delivery timelines.
- Manage plant operating budgets, controlling costs while improving efficiency and performance outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and operational standards across the facility.
What you will have (Qualifications):
- Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
- Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
- Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a related role or industry
Summary Pay Range:
$172,630.00 - $258,950.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
