The Excavation Division (EXD) Advanced Engineering team is hiring for Engineering Manager in Mossville, IL!
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
Lead system level DMEDI/NPI activities and support DMAIC/CPI activities.
Gather requirements from external and internal customers, process partners, and regulatory teams.
Create and manage detailed design documentation (systems, software, electronics, harness, iron)
Drive hardware and software design requirements through the development, implementation, and validation process.
Coordinate with numerous process partners in Cat Technology and within the EXD product group
Travel to Caterpillar proving grounds or customer sites for test support when needed
Identify areas of improvement for overall product quality
Develop and maintain MGPP
Mentor team members and develop skills to continue to deliver impactful features for our customers
What You Have (Core Skills)
Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Collaborating Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and business results.
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Demonstrates innovation, initiative, people development, and interpersonal skills.
Possesses experience in design of electrical systems and/or wiring harnesses on machines or vehicles.
Displays comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar Inc.; its products and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and a general understanding of Caterpillar’s external customers, competitors, and market influencers.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
