Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join the Resource Industries Sales, Services & Technology (RISST) Division as a Senior Communications Specialist. RISST is responsible for the delivery of the right solutions at the right time to mining, heavy construction, quarry and aggregate customers. By aligning machines, aftermarket support, digital solutions and technology, RISST helps customers improve productivity, reduce costs and operate more safely and sustainably.

The Senior Communications Specialist will report to the manager of RISST Division Communications and plays a key role in supporting strategic communications across the division and the Resource Industries segment. As a trusted business partner, you’ll work closely with senior leaders and other key business partners to drive our strategic priorities and culture through actionable communications plans. You’ll also lead and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute actionable communication strategies to drive collaboration, deepen understanding and generate excitement for Resource Industries’ solutions and services.

  • Inspire senior leaders and business partners to embrace effective communication solutions, including storytelling, leaders as communicators and change management

  • Work across a large, matrixed organization to develop, own and execute comprehensive communications plans that drive business objectives of key leadership and segment partners.

  • Collaborate with the extended communications network to uphold a proactive editorial strategy, bringing stories to life through written, visual and verbal communications

  • Analyze performance: Monitor communications metrics to refine strategies and continuously improve engagement.

  • Prepare executive internal and external presentations, speeches, and other materials

  • Uphold brand consistency: Maintain a consistent tone and style across all content, adhering to brand guidelines and voice

  • Deliver lean and process excellence to enhance quality and accelerate delivery, ensuring streamlined, high-impact communications that make it easy for stakeholders to do business with RISST.

What You Will Have:

  • Education/experience: College or university degree in communications, marketing, or a related field and/or considerable job-related experience in corporate communications with proficiency in digital communication tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Planning & organizing: Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects independently and with urgency;

  • Outcomes focus: Big picture thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and align messaging and deliverables to key business objectives and strategies

  • Communicating for impact: Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills; skilled at simplifying complex ideas, anticipating stakeholder needs and adjusting messaging to drive clarity and alignment

  • Copywriting and editing: Strong content creation skills and the ability to edit for various audiences

  • Interpersonal relationships: Outstanding relationship management; skilled at establishing and maintaining trust with customers, clients, peers and vendors

  • Risk management: The skill to identify, assess and mitigate communication-related risks, such as reputational damage or internal misunderstandings.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
