Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
As a Dealer CRM & Commercial Solutions Consultant, you will serve as a primary point of contact for Caterpillar dealers across North America, focused on dealer engagement, CRM adoption, and customer relationship enablement. This role partners closely with dealers to drive effective use of CRM tools, deliver training, gather feedback, and collaborate with central teams to continuously improve CRM functionality and dealer experience.
This position supports all Caterpillar machines in scope and works closely with internal commercial, IT, and merchandising partners to ensure CRM tools effectively support dealer sales and customer engagement activities. While pricing knowledge is beneficial, the role is primarily centered on dealer relationships and CRM enablement, not transactional pricing execution.
What You Will Do
- Act as a day-to-day dealer-facing partner, supporting dealer account teams in the effective use of Caterpillar CRM tools.
- Drive CRM engagement and adoption by working directly with dealers to integrate CRM tools into daily sales and customer interaction workflows.
- Deliver training and enablement sessions for dealers, ensuring understanding of CRM capabilities, best practices, and process alignment.
- Serve as a voice of the dealer, partnering with central and cross-functional teams to recommend enhancements or changes to CRM tools based on dealer feedback and real-world usage.
- Support dealer account management activities to strengthen customer relationships and sales effectiveness across Caterpillar machine products.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities where CRM data supports commercial insights, sales planning, and customer engagement strategies.
- Provide guidance informed by a foundational understanding of pricing and commercial concepts, without owning detailed pricing strategy or execution.
- Support additional ad hoc initiatives, special projects, and compliance‑related activities as needed, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, controls, and evolving business requirements.
What You Have
- Dealer & Customer Relationship Management: Experience working directly with B2B customers or dealers in an account management, sales, or customer success capacity.
- CRM Enablement & Adoption: Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce experience preferred) and supporting users in driving adoption, training, and continuous improvement.
- Communication & Influence: Ability to communicate effectively with dealer partners and internal teams, translating business needs into system or process improvements.
- Collaboration & Problem Solving: Comfort working across functions to resolve issues, provide feedback, and support tool enhancements.
- Foundational Commercial Knowledge: General understanding of pricing, sales, or commercial principles to support credibility in dealer discussions.
What Will Set You Apart
- Demonstrated depth of experience in account management, dealer support, CRM enablement, or commercial operations, including direct responsibility for supporting external customers or dealer networks
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar B2B CRM platforms
- Experience working in dealer-facing or distributor-based environments
- Prior exposure to Caterpillar products, dealers, or sales processes
- Ability to balance relationship management with system/process advocacy
