As a member of the Mining Machine Systems Integration team, you lead and coordinate an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test machine electronic control systems for use in Large Mining and Off-Highway Truck applications. Your contributions will include supporting updates and improvements for current production models as well as working on projects to develop and integrate the latest electronic architectures and autonomous related technologies onto Caterpillar Rigid Frame Trucks.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the creation of technical specifications and integration documentation for machine systems using electronic / electrical components, ECM’s and software
- Work with the machine system and sub-system teams to resolve system design and integration issues during development and production
- Report technical status to related Cat Electronics teams in gateway and stakeholder updates
- Support and communicate status of software releases, including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software, wiring and components
- Coordinate software development activities to process partners and product group and ensuring they are completed on schedule
- Manage test plan development and system/software validation activities
Education requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering school in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

- Ensures the successful completion of all major activities, tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stage
- Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation
- Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality review
Technical Excellence:
- Ensures the hardware and software requirements are met while structuring an embedded system
- Manages embedded systems ranging from low to high complexity with multiple units and networks
- Develops and manages machine control specifications based on product group requirements
- Fundamental understanding of mobile machine operation, construction equipment and operations
- Good mechanical aptitude as demonstrated with previous mechanical systems experience
- A detailed knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on Caterpillar machines

- Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas
- Participates in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes
- Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concerns

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Extensive experience in the development of complex electronic control systems
- Detailed knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on Caterpillar machines
- Experience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes
- Ability to read and utilize a schematic to troubleshoot basic machine wiring issues.
- Demonstrated leadership, planning and communication skills
- Demonstrated customer focus, analysis, and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify needed actions across organizational boundaries and act to resolve issues with minimal oversight
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively with a diverse group
- Demonstrated project planning, oversight and status tracking and reporting skills

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
