Job Summary

As an Associate Design Engineer located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, you will design, develop, build, and implement new components, products, or technologies. You will support product development activities from concept through prototype build, testing, and validation, while collaborating with cross‑functional partners across engineering, manufacturing, and supply. This role offers early‑career engineers strong exposure to hands‑on design work, structured problem solving, and real‑world manufacturing applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research new materials and evaluate competitive products to support design decisions.
  • Plan, organize, and execute prototype builds, testing, and analysis activities.
  • Support product validation by analyzing test results and documenting findings.
  • Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detailed design documentation.
  • Coordinate with drafting and testing specialists to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Partner with supply specialists and buyers to support supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Participate in buy‑versus‑build analysis, proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program (required).
  • Intermediate English-speaking level is required.

Ideal Candidate Skills

Analytical Thinking:

  • Ability to apply structured problem‑solving tools to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Conducting root-cause analysis on failed components using scanning electron microscopes (SEM), x-ray diffraction, and tensile testing.

Effective Communication:

  • Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Managing Multiple Priorities:

  • Ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

Technical Excellence:

  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and applying sound engineering fundamentals to solve technical challenges.
  • Conventional manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding the microstructure, phase transformations, and properties of metals (e.g., steel, aluminum) to treat them for specific applications.
  • Preparing and examining metal samples under microscopes to evaluate grain structure.

Additional information

  • Located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm.
  • No relocation sponsorship available.
