Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.
As the Global Senior EHS Professional for our Global Services Business Unit, you will serve as a global Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leader to drive Safety Leadership & Culture improvement, leveraging Human & Organizational Performance (HOP), reduction of Serious Injury & Fatality SIF) risk and exposure, and the elevation of EHS personnel and operational EHS skills and capabilities across 8 Global Services sites, worldwide. These sites include a combined service function of 6 Dealer Learning Centers and 5 technology labs for customer support. These are located in Morton, IL, Peoria, IL; Miami, FL, Malaga, ES; Dubai, UAE; Wuxi, CN, Kunshan, CN; Melbourne, AU; as well as Irving, TX – Caterpillar World headquarters.
The Global Senior EHS Professional, leadership role is an experienced individual contributor that partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Dealer Support to provide matrix leadership to site EHS and Operational Training and Laboratory teams. The focus is a business partner that provides mentorship, coaching, and assessment to strengthen safety culture and safety leadership skills, enhance EHS system reliability, drive regulatory compliance, and most importantly, reduce exposure to life altering, high-energy risks.

What You Will Do:
- Provide EHS oversite and guidance to Global Services leadership including the VP Global Services, as well as the Directors, Region Managers and their operational teams to drive performance of business unit EHS strategy, initiatives, and success factors. Tactics to support include:
- Oversee Global Services’ implementation of the “Safety Driven” initiative, which is a strategy based on maturity levels, similar to operational excellence and modern manufacturing concepts. Caterpillar’s Safety Driven strategy includes Safety Leadership skills and safety culture continuous improvement, leveraging Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) for engagement and program effectiveness, and a primary focus on the reduction of organizational and operational risks that have Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) potential.
- Drive implementation of EHS Assurance Manual, which includes the 29 Elements of an effective EHS Program functions. These elements include safety culture, compliance, auditing, education, employee development, change management, and other related functions to deliver on objectives for regulatory compliance, conformance to corporate procedures, and strategic initiatives to meet division goals.
- Perform site visits and engage with employees, as well as leadership teams to review and support site/facility risk assessments and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support Global Services leadership meetings/strategy and perform site visits to ensure alignment and continuity of EHS principles within the business.
- Provide presentations to both Global Service Business Unit and PSLD Division senior leadership teams.
- Conduct assessments and needs analysis with operations for review of the EHS performance, provide problem solving and guidance for continuous improvement assessments and developing action plans to meet desired results.
- Coach and mentor Global Services operations leaders and EHS personnel to strengthen safety culture and safety leadership skills, enhance EHS system reliability, drive regulatory compliance, and most importantly, reduce exposure to life altering, high-energy risks.
- Ensures alignment and implementation of EHS procedures and projects such that they are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and the business strategy.
- Supporting Caterpillar Global Services teams to drive corrective action and continuous improvement for EHS issues.
- This role collaborates with the Enterprise EHS Center of Excellence, Sustainability and Environmental group to serve as the PSLD subject matter expert (SME).
- The role provides leadership and direction for PSLD’s Environmental strategy and tactics in a collaborative function with PSLD senior leadership to execute the Enterprise Environmental and Sustainability strategic roadmap.
- Collaborate with Enterprise EHS and oversee development of the Annual Sustainability Report for PSLD.
- Eliminating waste in every EHS process through simplification and driving the organization towards standard work.
- Build innovative sustainability solutions for the operational teams utilizing data analytics, metrics, cultural insights, and other data sources.
- Analyze data and identify trends across the network to create strategies and action plans to reduce waste, greenhouse gases (GHG), and water usage.
- Assures compliance with organization and government environmental standards.
- Completes or reviews reports for submission to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
- Provide guidance and counsel to facility EHS representatives on sustainability and/or compliance topics.
- Ensures the 3E SDS Management tool is kept up-to-date and in compliance.
- Responsible for: Tier 2 reporting, RSCA/REACH, HAZMAT, spill response coordination with site teams (as needed).
- Serves as the back-up administrator for the DOT/IATA program.
- Leads sustainability councils as required.
- Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, OR 10 (plus) years of product support or service operations related experience.
- Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.
- Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
- Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
