Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Senior IT Analyst Applications (Manufacturing Engineering Business Analyst) to join our Solar IT Solutions - ERP Team, Caterpillar IT Division, Bangalore.

The incumbent will bring strong functional expertise across engineering and manufacturing domains with hands-on knowledge of ERP systems, PLM integration, product structures, manufacturing master data, and business process transformation. This role will serve as a bridge between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT teams to ensure successful delivery of ERP-enabled business capabilities and continuous process improvements.

The ideal candidate should possess deep experience in Package Bill of Materials (BoM), Multi-Site BoM Management, Windchill Release-to-Production processes, Item Master setup, Routing configuration, Engineering Change Management, and Manufacturing Operations. The role requires the ability to gather business requirements, define functional solutions, support ERP implementations, and drive process improvements across engineering and manufacturing operations.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN Office, KA-India.

What You Will Do

Manufacturing Engineering & ERP Process Expertise

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of engineering and manufacturing business processes, including item setup, BoM management, routing configuration, engineering change processes, and production release workflows.
  • Analyze and document end-to-end Engineering-to-Manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process optimization and standardization.
  • Support Package BoM and Multi-Site BoM management activities across manufacturing locations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure successful release-to-production processes and alignment between PLM and ERP systems.

Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis

  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to capture AS-IS and TO-BE business processes.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements from planners, buyers, manufacturing engineers, operations teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and solution designs.
  • Define acceptance criteria and support change control throughout project execution.

ERP & PLM Integration

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to support Windchill integration and Product Data Management (PDM) processes.
  • Support configuration and management of item master data, engineering attributes, BoMs, routings, and manufacturing structures within ERP systems.
  • Work with technical teams to define integration requirements between PLM, ERP, and other enterprise applications.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across engineering and manufacturing systems.

Testing, Validation & Deployment

  • Support functional design reviews, system configuration, testing, and solution validation activities.
  • Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate defect management, issue resolution, and deployment readiness activities.
  • Support cutover planning, deployment execution, and post-go-live stabilization.

Change Management & User Enablement

  • Assist in organizational change management activities associated with process transformation initiatives.
  • Develop user training materials, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct end-user training sessions and provide post-deployment support.
  • Drive adoption of new business processes and ERP capabilities across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze process and system performance metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Recommend process enhancements and technology solutions that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing productivity, quality, and supply chain performance.

What You Will Have

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Manufacturing Engineering, ERP, PLM, or Supply Chain initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation and business transformation programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering-to-Manufacturing business processes and data management.

Additional Information

Work Timings: 01:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST

This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
