Job Description

Lead Caterpillar’s Dallas-based Connected Operator Experience & Productivity engineering organization, delivering integrated machine, mobile, edge, cloud, data, and AI Assistant capabilities. Build local talent, align global partners, and deliver secure, scalable solutions that improve operator proficiency, safety, and productivity.

What You Will Do:

• Build and lead the team:
  • You will be responsible for building and leading a high performing team of Architects, Systems and Software Engineers. This includes recruiting, coaching, developing and retaining this talent.

• Accelerate delivery:
  • In this role you will own both Strategic and Tactical decisions for Product Strategy including but not limited to architecture, roadmaps, requirements, integration, validation, release readiness, and lifecycle execution across globally distributed teams.
  • These teams will be supporting machine, mobile, cloud, edge AI, data, and user-experience initiatives for this product.

• Deliver the connected experience:
  • You will guide scalable integration projects across on-machine platforms, mobile, cloud and edge services for secure systems.

• Create customer value:
  • Through customer feedback and data, you’ll use operator insights responsibly to personalize workflows, enable digital coaching and thoughtful engagement, accelerate proficiency, and deliver measurable safety and productivity outcomes.

Consideration for Top Candidates:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field;
• 5+ years experience leading technical teams and building organizational capability.

• Proven success scaling software, systems, platform, or connected-product teams.
• Prior experience delivering integrated machine, mobile, edge, cloud, data, and user-experience solutions through the product development lifecycle.

• Strong architecture and integration background, including APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native and edge services, identity, data platforms, AI-enabled experiences, cybersecurity, privacy, responsible AI, and machine-intensive industries.

Additional Information:

• This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Irving, TX office
• Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
• Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.
• This position will require up to 50% in the first 18 months, then should decrease to 25% long-term
