As Principal Digital Architect, Marketing for Marketing Technology & Data, you will define the solution design and end-to-end architecture that powers marketing analytics, attribution, audience segmentation, and personalized customer experiences. You will collaborate with Marketing, MarTech, Product, and Data Engineering teams to deliver scalable, privacy-compliant digital platforms and real-time decisioning capabilities that enhance campaign performance and customer lifetime value.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the end to end Marketing Digital Architecture, defining scalable frameworks and data structures that enable seamless activation, analytics, and cross channel orchestration.
- Establish and evolve Customer 360 and identity resolution capabilities, ensuring unified customer profiles that power personalization, targeting, and measurement across the digital ecosystem.
- Architect real time activation and personalization pipelines, enabling event driven experiences, dynamic segmentation, and rapid decisioning across MarTech and AdTech platforms.
- Develop analytical data models that support reporting, advanced analytics, and data science, ensuring high quality, well governed datasets for stakeholders across marketing, sales, and product teams.
- Integrate MarTech and AdTech ecosystem components, ensuring seamless data flow, interoperability, and aligned architecture across CDP, CRM, DSP, DMP, marketing automation, analytics, and advertising platforms.
- Lead the design and expansion of cloud data platforms and lakehouse architectures, enabling scalable ingestion, transformation, storage, and activation of large-scale marketing datasets.
- Ensure privacy, compliance, and consent management foundations are embedded into all data flows, aligning with global regulations and internal governance standards.
- Apply ML and AI techniques to power marketing use cases, such as predictive targeting, look alike modeling, churn prediction, content recommendations, and budget optimization.
- Drive security and governance practices, ensuring data protection, role-based access, quality controls, and consistency across the marketing technology stack.
- Provide strong stakeholder leadership, partnering with marketing, product, engineering, analytics, and external vendors to shape strategy, align roadmaps, and deliver enterprise scale digital marketing capabilities.
What you will have:
- Target Architecture: Extensive knowledge of target architecture; ability to develop the IT blueprint and roadmap while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.
- Data Architecture: Extensive knowledge of processes, techniques and factors that affect data architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
- Application Design, Architecture: Extensive knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into designs.
- Platform Architecture: Extensive knowledge of technologies and methods to design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems, in accordance with standards and processes
- Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Working understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques for requirements analysis; ability to elicit, analyze, and document required business functionality and non-functional requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- IT Architecture: Extensive knowledge of Information Technology (IT) architecture; ability to design and improve organizational IT structures that support business operations.
Consideration for top candidates:
- 8+ years of experience in data solution architecture, digital platforms, marketing technology, analytics, or customer data solutions.
- Proficiency with MarTech and AdTech platforms: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Campaign Manager 360, Google Cloud Platform preferred
- Experience in Hightouch and Data Platforms including BigQuery, Snowflake
- Ability to design end-to-end digital ecosystems that align technology with business strategy.
- Strong understanding of TOGAF, Zachman, or domain-driven design.
- Strong demonstrated experience delivering component, product, and/or enterprise architecture in public cloud and/or hybrid ecosystems.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, profiling and optimization, and data modeling techniques.
- Understanding of Agile SDLC implementation in public cloud ecosystems, including environment management, test automation, peer review, CI/CD, and resource optimization.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $240,110.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
