The consultant will bring deep expertise in LN (10.x / Industrial Cloudsuite) to support implementation projects, continuous improvement, and stabilize planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Planning Process Design & Optimization
- Analyze and map Solar Turbines’ planning processes—including MPS, MRP, Forecasting, PRP, Item Planning Setup, SIC/TPOP/OCB logic, and shortage management—to LN best practices.
- Configure LN planning parameters to support Solar’s multi‑site environment, including sites in the US, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.
- Optimize planning flows such as:
- Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
- Forecast Independent Demand
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and MRP Analysis Jobs

- Perform root-cause analysis for planning discrepancies, incorrect signals, shortages, or capacity issues.
- Lead functional testing for planning changes, upgrades, enhancements, and integration impacts.
- Support LN 10.x upgrades and planning process improvements as Solar transitions workloads between Baan 5c processes and LN 10.x functionality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration With Solar Planning Teams
- Partner with production planners, schedulers, supply chain coordinators, buyers, and engineering to ensure LN planning signals support real-world operational needs.
- Work with Solar’s Business Process Leads (BPLs), Product Owners, and Solution Architects to align business requirements, backlog items, and enhancement requests.
- Support planning data governance—item planning attributes, planning calendars, BOM accuracy, lead times, and sourcing logic.
Integration & End-to-End Process Support
- Collaborate with adjacent LN functional areas including:
- Purchasing (PO creation dependencies)
- Warehousing (receipts, put-away, quality holds)
- Shop Floor Control (routing, operation capacity, scheduling)
- Project Accounting (PRP & contract-driven demand)
- Ensure planning outputs correctly trigger downstream processes—production orders, purchase orders, subcontracting, inventory moves.
Documentation, Training & User Enablement
- Create end‑to‑end planning process documentation tailored to Solar’s operations.
- Deliver training sessions for planners utilizing LN, Mingle task management, and planning exception workflows.
- Contribute to Solar’s global training library
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
- Troubleshoot planning variances, unexpected MRP messages, and scheduling issues.
- Identify system or process gaps and propose sustainable solutions aligned with Solar’s global ERP roadmap.
- Collaborate with optimization and enhancements teams to refine planning workflows and improve system reliability.
What you will have
- 7+ years of functional experience with Infor LN (10.5/10.7/10.x) or BAAN IV/V, focused on Planning, Manufacturing, or Logistics.
- Deep understanding of MPS/MRP, planning cycles, PRP, item planning parameters, forecasting, and supply/demand balancing.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Solar Turbines or Caterpillar planning processes, workflows, or operational structures.
- Familiarity with Mingle, LN planning dashboards, and task orchestration for planners.
- Knowledge of warehousing, shop floor execution, subcontracting, and project-based manufacturing.
