Job Summary:
The Senior IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure, Flexera Technical and Data Quality, is responsible for the administration, integration, operational health, and data quality of Caterpillar's Software Asset Management (SAM)
platform. This role provides technical support for Flexera components including inventory agents, beacons, adapters, integrations, reconciliation processes, and supporting data pipelines. The incumbent identifies and resolves inventory, normalization, integration, and data quality issues to support software compliance, audit readiness, optimization, and software lifecycle decisions. The role partners closely with Software Asset Management, Infrastructure, Endpoint Management, Cybersecurity, ServiceNow, Data Engineering, and Compliance teams.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise software asset data. Success is measured through improved data quality, inventory accuracy, platform reliability, audit readiness, operational efficiency, and the delivery of actionable insights that enable informed software lifecycle and compliance decisions.
What you will do:
- Administer, support, and continuously improve the Flexera platform, including inventory agents, beacons, integrations, business adapters, evidence rules, and related SAM capabilities.
- Manage the health and reliability of software inventory data by monitoring inventory collection, reconciliation processes, data refreshes, integrations, and platform dependencies.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Flexera platform operations, troubleshooting complex issues related to agents, integrations, inventory processing, data quality, and system performance.
- Design and implement data quality controls, validation processes, and root-cause analysis activities to improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness of software asset data.
- Partner with infrastructure, endpoint management, ServiceNow, cybersecurity, and source-system teams to resolve data and integration issues across enterprise technology platforms.
- Analyze large datasets using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and automation technologies to identify trends, validate business rules, and deliver actionable insights that support software compliance, optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting solutions, technical documentation, data lineage artifacts, and operational standards to support governance, transparency, and decision-making.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities using PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, APIs, and related technologies to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and data accuracy.
- Evaluate and implement automation, reporting, and AI-enabled solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and overall platform effectiveness.
What you will have:
- Hardware Asset Management & Governance – Expertise in hardware asset lifecycle management, asset governance, CMDB/data quality, risk management, compliance, and enterprise controls that improve visibility, accountability, and audit readiness.
- Process Optimization, Automation & Analytics – Drives process improvement through automation, standardization, and data-driven decision making using ServiceNow, Excel, SQL, and enterprise data sources to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk.
- Leadership, Collaboration & Problem Solving – Leads cross-functional initiatives, builds strong stakeholder relationships, translates complex concepts into actionable recommendations, and develops sustainable solutions through effective communication, collaboration, and mentorship.
Basic requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in information technology, computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Pre-Advanced English.
- Five or more years of experience supporting enterprise IT platforms, ITAM/SAM technologies, discovery systems, or data integrations.
- Hands-on experience administering or technically supporting Flexera One, FlexNet Manager Suite, or a comparable enterprise SAM platform.
- Experience managing or troubleshooting inventory agents, beacons, adapters, discovery feeds, APIs, and reconciliation processes.
- Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large enterprise datasets.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving data-quality issues across integrated systems.
- Experience with at least two relevant enterprise data sources, such as SCCM/MECM, Intune, ServiceNow CMDB, Jamf, Tanium, BigFix, or Snowflake.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems using logs, queries, monitoring information, data lineage, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to communicate technical findings, operational risk, and business impact to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience documenting configurations, support procedures, data rules, integration flows, and remediation actions.
Top candidates will also have:
- Flexera One, FlexNet Manager Suite, or Flexera ITAM administration certification.
- Flexera implementation, upgrade, or migration experience.
- Experience with Flexera Business Adapters, inventory evidence configuration, recognition, and normalization.
- Power BI dashboard development and data-modeling experience.
- PowerShell or Python scripting experience.
- Experience with Snowflake, APIs, Power Automate, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Familiarity with software licensing, entitlements, license reconciliation, and ELP concepts.
- ITIL Foundation, CSAM, CITAM, CHAMP, or other relevant ITAM/SAM certification.
- Experience supporting audit-readiness, compliance, optimization, or vulnerability use cases.
