As a Senior Accountant – Corporate Consolidations & Reporting, you will play a critical role in consolidating Caterpillar's financial results and supporting enterprise management reporting processes. This position serves as a key partner within the Financial Analysis & Reporting organization, helping bridge legal entity accounting and management reporting while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of consolidated financial information.

In this role, you will collaborate across Finance, Accounting, and business organizations to consolidate monthly financial results, support quarterly and annual external reporting requirements, and provide guidance on enterprise reporting methodologies. You will also contribute to process improvements, reporting standardization, and financial systems initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Caterpillar's reporting framework.

This position offers broad exposure to Caterpillar's global operations and provides the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders on highly visible financial reporting and consolidation activities.

What You Will Do

Financial Consolidations & Reporting

  • Consolidate monthly financial results across Caterpillar's global business units.
  • Serve as a liaison between legal entity accounting and management reporting organizations to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation and review of consolidated financial results used by senior leadership.
  • Analyze consolidated financial information and investigate reporting variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.

External Reporting & Disclosures

  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual external reporting requirements, including portions of the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K.
  • Prepare and review Segment Information Note Disclosures and other financial statement support schedules.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure reported results are complete, accurate, and aligned with reporting requirements.
  • Assist in responding to questions related to financial reporting methodologies and disclosures.

Enterprise Methodologies & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on Caterpillar management reporting methodologies and consolidation practices.
  • Facilitate enterprise accountable methodology processes across divisions and business units.
  • Provide guidance to business partners on financial reporting requirements and reporting structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across financial systems, reporting processes, and governance standards.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial consolidation and reporting processes.
  • Support reporting automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and Technology teams to enhance reporting tools, systems, and data integrity.
  • Drive innovative solutions that strengthen enterprise reporting capabilities and decision support.

What You Have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting financial consolidations, management reporting, financial reporting, or corporate accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement relationships.
  • Experience analyzing financial data and translating findings into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet recurring reporting deadlines.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

Financial Reporting & Consolidations Experience

  • Experience supporting enterprise financial consolidations in a large global organization.
  • Experience with management reporting, corporate reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements, including support of Form 10-Q and Form 10-K filings.
  • Experience working with complex organizational and reporting structures.

Systems & Technology

  • Experience utilizing OneStream, Hyperion, or similar financial consolidation and reporting platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting reporting automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and data governance practices.

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor on reporting methodologies and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple accounting, finance, and business functions.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive consensus across stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be recognized as a trusted partner within the Financial Analysis & Reporting organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Caterpillar's consolidated financial results while supporting key management and external reporting requirements.

They will leverage their expertise in financial consolidations, reporting methodologies, and financial systems to improve reporting efficiency, strengthen data quality, support regulatory reporting requirements, and provide meaningful insights that help drive informed business decisions.

Additional Information

Location: Irving, TX (Walnut Hill)

Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week

Travel: Minimal travel required

Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
