Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the development and introduction of new products and projects into manufacturing, ensuring robust processes for machining, assembly, paint, and related operations. This role partners closely with Design, Advanced Manufacturing, Demand and Order teams, customers, and Product Groups to translate requirements into safe, efficient, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing solutions that meet quality, delivery, capacity, and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads Manufacturing Engineering teams responsible for new product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and the launch of new projects from concept through production readiness.

  • Defines, develops, and improves manufacturing processes for machining, assembly, paint, tooling, equipment utilization, layouts, routings, work standards, and process documentation.

  • Partners with Design Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing to evaluate manufacturability, process capability, tooling needs, equipment selection, automation opportunities, and design-for-manufacturing requirements.

  • Supports demand and order requirements by aligning capacity, resources, equipment, and project timing to meet customer needs, product group priorities, and operational commitments.

  • Applies strong project management practices to facilitate NPI / NSI / EC projects, lead chartering sessions, validate network diagrams, manage risks, and drive integration, compression, and launch readiness activities.

  • Leads the implementation of new machinery, process changes, automation solutions, and advanced manufacturing technologies to improve safety, quality, cost, throughput, and productivity.

  • Coordinates capital projects, equipment moves, facility layouts, and new equipment installations, including forecasting, planning, execution tracking, and reporting to leadership.

  • Build strong communication channels with customers, internal stakeholders, Product Groups, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements, timing, cost, quality, and launch performance.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering.

  • Advanced English

Skills:

  • Gathers, organizes, and evaluates pertinent data, ideas, and stakeholder perspectives.

Demand, Order & Capacity Planning:

  • Uses analytical tools to understand demand, order signals, customer requirements, and product group priorities that impact manufacturing capacity and project execution.

  • Prepares capacity scenarios, resource plans, and management reports to support current production needs, future launches, and capital investment decisions.

  • Aligns people, equipment, tooling, floor space, and project timing to deliver required volume, quality, cost, and schedule commitments.

Lean Manufacturing:

  • Champions the integration and adoption of lean manufacturing philosophies across the organization.

  • Educates and mentors colleagues on lean principles, including their application to operations, logistics, and product development.

  • Consults on work cell and layout designs, ensuring alignment with lean objectives, and leads initiatives to measure and monitor lean performance.

Manufacturing Processes, NPI & Advanced Manufacturing:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, paint, tooling, fixtures, process flow, work standards, and production readiness.

  • Leads process development for new products and new project introductions, ensuring manufacturability, capability, quality planning, and smooth transition into production.

  • Identifies and deploys advanced manufacturing and automation opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, quality, capacity, and cost performance.

Customer, Product Group & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Communicates clearly with customers, Product Groups, Design, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Advanced Manufacturing to align technical requirements, launch plans, risks, and priorities.

  • Facilitates cross-functional problem solving, decision-making, and escalation to remove barriers during product development, project introduction, and production ramp-up.

  • Builds credibility through proactive follow-up, data-based communication, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Manufacturing Equipment, Automation & Tooling:

  • Evaluates, specifies, and implements manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, automation systems, and process controls required for new and existing product lines.

  • Works with cross-functional teams to validate equipment readiness, process capability, installation timing, safety requirements, and compliance with manufacturing standards.

  • Monitors equipment performance and drives corrective actions, standardization, and continuous improvement to support reliable production execution.

Problem Solving:

  • Records issues and solutions.

  • Considers multiple perspectives.

  • Weighs risks and benefits.

  • Uses diagnostic tools.

Performance Management:

  • Provides feedback and recognition.

  • Supports salary decisions.

  • Sets and updates objectives collaboratively.

Top Candidates also have:

  • Previous experience leading Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, new product development, or new project introduction teams.

  • Strong technical background in machining, assembly, paint, automation, tooling, fixtures, or advanced manufacturing processes.

  • Expertise in project management, launch readiness, manufacturability reviews, capacity planning, demand/order alignment, and cross-functional execution.

  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with customers, Product Groups, Design, Operations, Quality, and leadership teams.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon.

  • Travel requirement: 20% domestic and international travel.

  • This position is five-day a week in-office model.
