Job Title: Logistics Production Manager – AM Shift

Salary: £41,500 - £50,000 depending on skills demonstrated

Contract: Full time & fixed term contract - 12 Months

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

The Opportunity:

As a Logistics Production Manager, you'll lead a team responsible for ensuring materials flow efficiently from receipt through to the manufacturing point of use. You'll create a safe, high-performing environment, develop people, solve problems and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

What you will do:

As a Logistics Production Manager, you are accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Lead and develop your team by promoting a strong safety culture, setting clear expectations, managing performance, supporting training and development, and creating an environment where people can perform at their best.

  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities to ensure materials flow efficiently from receipt through to the manufacturing point of use. You'll prioritise work, allocate resources, balance staffing levels and respond to changing operational and customer requirements.

  • Monitor operational performance and drive results by reviewing KPIs, leading area performance reviews and using data to identify trends, improve safety, quality, delivery and cost, and support informed decision-making.

  • Lead problem solving activities by identifying operational issues, determining root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions to improve safety, quality, productivity and operational performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles, Process Improvement Dialogues (PID), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and value stream improvements that reduce waste, improve efficiency and strengthen operational performance.

  • Maintain operational control by ensuring accurate reporting, inventory management, compliance with operational standards and the timely availability of materials to support manufacturing requirements and business objectives.

What You Can Demonstrate:

Level: Working Knowledge

  • Performance Management: Lead, develop and motivate a team through coaching, feedback and performance management practices. This is important to build capability, maintain engagement and achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.

  • Planning and Organising: Plan and coordinate people, materials and resources to meet operational requirements. Success in this area means balancing priorities, overcoming constraints and ensuring materials flow efficiently to support manufacturing.

  • Problem Solving: Use structured approaches to identify operational issues, determine root causes and implement sustainable solutions. This is critical to improving safety, quality, productivity and supporting continuous improvement activities.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Evaluate operational data, assess risks and make informed decisions that support daily operations, improve performance and help achieve business objectives.

What You May Have:

  • Logistics Operations: Understanding of receiving, warehousing, inventory management and material flow activities, and how they support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing, RCCA, PID, 6 Sigma or similar methodologies to reduce waste, improve performance and drive operational improvements.

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Ability to interpret KPIs, operational reports and performance data to identify trends, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
