Caterpillar’s is seeking a 3rd Shift Senior Logistics Manager in Sanford, NC supporting Compact Track Loader (CTL) manufacturing factory. This role is accountable for the coordination of material, equipment, workforce, quality and meeting production schedules and customer satisfaction. Major responsibilities include directing the work of others, problem solving and resolution and coordination with support departments. In addition, the Group Manager determines budget requirements, cost-saving project plans, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
What you can look forward to in this role:
- Take actions to eliminate safety hazards in the work area and support continuous improvement safety projects.
- Ensure effective operation of an assigned logistics area to meet production schedules in a cost-effective, quality, high-velocity manner
- Utilize resources, including people, material, and machines, to achieve cost, quality, and inventory management targets
- Monitor customer delivery performance, cost reduction programs, lead-time improvements, and quality improvement projects to metrics targets
- Establish cost and quality goals and ensure efficient integration of warehouse, supply chain, logistics, maintenance, and quality to achieve targets.
- Determine / deploy actions required to maintain velocity, efficiency, and quality in work area; Implementing, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma and Internal Certification processes.
- Promote engagement, learning and professional development for direct reports.
- Develop and deploy training resources on work processes.
- Develop and set goals to assist direct reports and meet goals.
- Be accountable for area continuous improvement process execution.
- Conduct process improvement dialog with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members and support projects for changes.
- Develop detailed near-term and long-term logistics plans for constraints.
- Drive root cause corrective action process.
- Audit and report on safety, Quality, Certification, standard work, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness metrics

- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or logistics discipline
- Experience in supply chain planning/engineering or inventory control
- Experience in lean manufacturing
- Experience with yard management systems or Glovia ERP
- 10 years' experience working in a high velocity and manufacturing or logistics environment
- 5 years' direct supervisory experience
Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
