Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., leverages the latest technologies to build industry-leading digital solutions for our customers and dealers. With over 1.5 million connected assets worldwide, our teams use data, technology, advanced analytics, telematics, and AI capabilities to help our customers build a better, more sustainable world.

We are hiring a Marketing Communications Specialist to lead the vision, strategy, and operational evolution of creative capabilities supporting Caterpillar's eCommerce and digital marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for shaping and scaling end-to-end creative processes across campaign development, content production, brand stewardship, and creative innovation, ensuring marketing efforts deliver compelling customer experiences while driving measurable business outcomes.

The Marketing Communications Specialist will partner closely with marketing leaders, business stakeholders, agencies and production partners to establish creative direction, optimize workflows, implement emerging technologies and tools, and build a sustainable model for high-quality and ongoing creative testing across channels and platforms.

As a strategic leader and trusted creative advisor, this role will champion creative excellence across the organization, balancing brand consistency with channel-specific needs, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and continuously advancing creative capabilities through process improvement, experimentation, performance insights, and innovative approaches to content development and delivery.

Joining CAT Digital, you will be an integral part of the business, driving global eCommerce paid media marketing efforts to achieve customer acquisition, retention, and revenue goals.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and execution of end-to-end creative strategies that support Caterpillar's eCommerce and digital marketing objectives, from concept development through final delivery, establishing feedback loops that turn creative testing outcomes and campaign insights into scalable best practices.

  • Serve as both a creative leader and hands-on contributor, providing art direction while directly designing, developing, and refining creative assets to support business priorities, accelerate project delivery, and maintain quality standards across marketing channels.

  • Establish and evolve scalable creative processes, workflows, and governance models that improve efficiency, increase production capacity, and enable consistent delivery of high-quality creative assets across channels.

  • Partner with marketing teams, business stakeholders, agencies, and production partners to define creative direction, develop briefs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful execution of integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Serve as a steward of the Cat brand, providing strategic guidance and quality oversight to ensure creative assets maintain a consistent visual identity, voice, and messaging framework while meeting the unique needs of individual campaigns and channels.

  • Direct and oversee the creation of marketing content for Cat-led and Dealer-led initiatives across a variety of formats and channels including paid media, email, video, photography, graphics, copy, and emerging media experiences that support customer engagement and business growth.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new creative technologies and collaboration tools that enhance creative capabilities, improve operational effectiveness, and support innovation and testing at scale.

  • Champion a culture of creative excellence, experimentation, and continuous improvement by leveraging performance insights, documenting creative testing insights, and applying learnings to strengthen future marketing initiatives.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and creative partners, ensuring deliverables meet quality expectations, timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.

What You Will Have

  • Customer Focus: Expertise in understanding customer needs, behaviors, and motivations, using audience insights and performance data to create impactful creative experiences that strengthen engagement and support business objectives.

  • Creativity: Strong ability to develop innovative creative concepts, campaigns, and content strategies that balance brand consistency, customer relevance, and business impact across digital marketing channels.

  • Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges associated with delivering creative solutions in a global organization; ability to adapt messaging, creative approaches, and collaboration models to diverse markets and audiences.

  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of long-term creative vision and planning; ability to align creative strategy with organizational goals, identify emerging opportunities, and drive scalable solutions that enhance marketing effectiveness.

  • Digital Marketing: Deep knowledge of digital marketing channels, creative testing best practices, with the ability to develop channel-specific creative strategies that improve customer engagement and business outcomes.

  • Effective Communications: Proficient in communicating creative vision, rationale, and performance insights to stakeholders across business and technical teams, building alignment and influencing decision-making at multiple levels of the organization.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of creative technologies, design tools, digital production workflows, and emerging AI-enabled solutions, with the ability to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability through technology adoption and process innovation.

  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Experience leading relationships with creative agencies, production partners, freelancers, and suppliers, ensuring quality deliverables, effective collaboration, budget stewardship, and alignment to strategic objectives.

  • Project Management: Expertise in leading complex creative initiatives from intake and concept development through production and final delivery; ability to establish scalable processes, prioritize resources, manage competing demands, and ensure timely execution of creative work.

  • Creative Direction: Expertise in creative leadership, brand stewardship, and visual storytelling, with the ability to establish creative standards, provide art direction, guide cross-functional teams, and translate business objectives into compelling customer experiences.
