Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Waco, TX. In this role, you will apply advanced manufacturing engineering expertise to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance across complex manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead process improvements, support production equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational excellence.

You will collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions. This position offers the opportunity to leverage lean manufacturing, automation, robotics, and project management skills to optimize manufacturing processes and support plant growth.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement enhancements to complex manufacturing equipment and production processes including tooling and fixtures
  • Optimize production workflows to improve productivity, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Research and implement emerging manufacturing technologies and best practices.
  • Support manufacturing process design, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support to manufacturing teams.
  • Coach and develop operations technical staff and support functions.
  • Support manufacturing strategy development and execution.
  • Lead engineering activities involving equipment, processes, and facilities.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a high-volume production environment preferred.
  • Experience in 3d modeling such as CREO.
  • Experience with SAP Mach 1 and SAP ME.
  • Experience in NPI management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office 365 products

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
