Position Summary
The Senior CVA Condition Monitoring Manager is responsible for leading Caterpillar's global Customer Value Agreement (CVA) Condition Monitoring organization and delivering world-class machine health insights that improve customer uptime, increase equipment availability, and drive profitable aftermarket growth.
This role provides strategic and operational leadership for a large global organization responsible for analyzing machine health data, generating actionable recommendations, supporting dealer service execution, and creating measurable customer value through proactive equipment management.
The position is accountable for organizational performance, recommendation quality, operational excellence, workforce development, dealer satisfaction, and business outcomes associated with Caterpillar's Condition Monitoring programs. The Senior Manager will work closely with dealers, Product Support teams, Digital organizations, Product Groups, and Uptime Solutions leadership to continuously improve monitoring effectiveness and expand customer value realization.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Culture
- Lead a global organization of managers, supervisors, and Condition Monitoring Advisors supporting customers and dealers worldwide.
- Build and sustain a high-performance culture centered on safety, accountability, customer focus, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Drive employee engagement, talent development, coaching, succession planning, and leadership capability across the organization.
- Establish clear operating expectations and performance standards while fostering an environment of inclusion, continuous learning, and employee growth.
- Develop future leaders and build organizational capability to support long-term business growth.
Operational Excellence
- Lead day-to-day operations of the global CVA Condition Monitoring organization.
- Ensure delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable machine health recommendations that drive customer uptime and dealer service opportunities.
- Own operational performance metrics, quality standards, productivity targets, and service delivery expectations.
- Drive standardization of tools, workflows, processes, and best practices across the monitoring organization.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Deep entrenchment of Artificial Intelligence solutions in driving operational efficiencies with the CMAs.
Dealer Success & Customer Value
- Partner with dealers to maximize adoption and effectiveness of Condition Monitoring services.
- Ensure recommendations support measurable customer outcomes including uptime, reliability, equipment availability, and lower cost of operation.
- Act as an escalation point for operational and service issues impacting dealer or customer success.
- Capture and incorporate Voice of Dealer (VoD) and Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback to continuously improve services.
Business Performance
- Own performance metrics including:
- Recommendation volume
- Recommendation accuracy and quality
- Service Transactional Uplift (STU)
- Asset coverage growth
- Dealer adoption and engagement
- Service level performance
- Lead business reviews and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Support annual business planning, workforce planning, investment planning, and resource allocation decisions.
Capability Development & Innovation
- Partner with Digital, Analytics, and Product organizations to improve monitoring effectiveness and analyst productivity.
- Drive adoption of automation, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled workflows where appropriate.
- Support deployment of new Condition Monitoring capabilities, tools, and processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve recommendation quality, scalability, and customer value realization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Uptime Solutions, Product Groups, Service Engineering, Fleet Monitoring Center (FMC), Rental Monitoring Center (RMC), and dealer organizations.
- Ensure alignment between Condition Monitoring activities and broader Caterpillar service growth objectives.
- Support enterprise initiatives focused on connected assets, proactive services, and customer success.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Product Support, Reliability Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
Leadership Experience
- Demonstrated people leadership experience with direct responsibility for leading and developing teams.
- Proven experience leading organizations consisting of at least 8–10 direct and/or indirect employees.
- Strong track record of building, scaling, and leading high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success in creating and sustaining a strong organizational culture focused on accountability, engagement, collaboration, and results.
- Proven ability to drive employee engagement, talent development, coaching, and succession planning.
- Experience leading organizations through growth, transformation, or operational change.
Functional Experience
- Significant experience in Product Support, Condition Monitoring, Fleet Management, Equipment Management, Services, Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of dealer operations and customer support processes.
- Demonstrated success delivering operational excellence and business performance improvements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Customer Value Agreements (CVA), Condition Monitoring, Equipment Management Services, or Connected Asset solutions.
- Knowledge of VisionLink™, Product Link™, Cat Foresight™, S•O•S Services, inspections, and machine health analytics.
- Working with global teams and dealer organizations.
- Experience deploying automation, predictive analytics, AI, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong Skills in commercial acumen and understanding of Caterpillar's aftermarket business model.
