JOB SUMMARY:
- Under broad direction, conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects with primary responsibilities over monthly internal and quarterly 10-K/Q external reporting. This role manages the reporting process from coordinating with other accountants and business partners to preparing and coordinating among management for quarterly reporting.
- Assignments and work require a broad knowledge of accounting policies, practices, and procedures and a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- This role has significant visibility to upper management and other departments through the quarterly reporting process. Attention to detail and the ability to meet and coordinate reporting timelines are key skills.
- Prepare recommendations for changes in policies, procedures, and disclosures to address accounting related changes in guidance, disclosure requirements, and changes in the business. Initiate and implement changes needed to accounting systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A wide variety of responsibilities may exist within the various accounting units. Responsibilities vary, but may include one or more of the following duties:
- Perform tasks related to monthly internal reporting for executive management and quarterly external reporting, including working closely with managers on the 10-K/Q reporting drafting and filing process, preparing quarterly earnings releases. Duties and responsibilities include coordination across the reporting team, business, and parent company reporting team.
- Duties and responsibilities may include complex accounting related to non-standard transactions, digital transformation projects, internal and external audit liaison, and disclosure benchmarking, requiring the use of in-depth accounting knowledge, practices and principles as well as ingenuity and originality.
- Establish business partnerships across the organization and assist accounting in support of their business strategies.
- Organizing and coordinating quarterly reporting timeline and meetings with management and participating in meetings with senior management.
- May perform accounting policy and disclosure research and assist in solving complex accounting issues applying knowledge obtained per review of SEC and FASB guidance.
- Analyzes financial reports and records and may make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
- May review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- When inconsistencies or problems are identified, provide management with timely recommendations to appropriately resolve.
- May make recommendations for changes in accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Applies a broad knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures.
- May participate in accounting system development, determining specifications, testing and implementation.
- Reviews accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.
- May serve as Project Team lead and mentor/advisor to other employees.
- Understands the established continuous improvement objectives for the department. Measures progress toward the continuous improvement standards and ensure that the necessary measurements are maintained. Participates in the resolution of any identified problems. Analyzes data and makes business decisions based on such analysis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Supports internal customers’ business strategies through guidance on complex accounting transactions.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting distribution and ability to verify correctness and completeness of such information.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FASB regulations, and SEC reporting requirements and procedures as they relate to the particular area of accounting.
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Outlook and Teams is recommended.
- Experience with XBRL tagging and proficiency with Workiva are recommended.
- Broad understanding of accounting and business processes and systems.
- Leadership / supervisory abilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s Degree in another discipline plus 18 credit hours of Accounting, or successful completion of the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam or the international equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 years of exempt accounting experience is recommended.
- Must have a broad understanding of accounting and business processes and systems. CPA, public accounting, or SEC reporting experience are recommended.
